Posted: 30 Dec 2019 11:06 AM PST For unknown reasons someone has been trying to stress the Nano network. The network is currently at over 1.700.000 confirmed daily transactions, compared to Bitcoin's 470.000 (source: https://blocktivity.info/). The network is not even sweating yet. Impressive! Richard Heart is now censoring his Hex community Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:46 AM PST I hate to give this project more PR but I think it's worth mentioning what's been going on recently in the Hex communities. Richard setup a TG for Hex and several related sub categories, one of which being HexBad. The premise of this group was to show that he allowed people to criticise, hate and even fud Hex which he would argue against in another channel "HexFud". In theory this seems like a reasonable thing to do and shows he's willing to answer to challenges regarding Hex. Over time however this group become the most popular to the point even Richard was a regular. I noticed however a lot of critical regulars were disappearing to the point that most comments were new users. It turns out very recently the moderators (assuming RH) have been disabling comments and/or banning lots of members. Most likely this has been going on all along, of course, basically curating the narrative of Hex criticism. This does seems like a coordinated move and begs the question, why start limiting peoples discussion now? I figured it's worth bringing this up just in case there's going to be an exit, also it's worth letting people know that he's actively trying to limit people from posting undesirable comments about the project. Another year passes with no terribly useful or popular dapps. Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:27 AM PST I mean, how long is this really going to take to find something that the everyday person can and wants to use? New traditional websites and services pop up overnight, reaching the masses quick and provide something that would at least seem on the surface to be useful in some way. Still another year goes by and I don't know a single person doing anything terribly cool or useful. Perhaps it's time to just accept that Bitcoin-like usage is the only viable application. Y'all got any of that Filecoin? [link] [comments] | ||

Has anyone actually been buying more alts this year? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:38 AM PST i had an extra few hundred dollars over the holidays and decided, for the very first time this year, to look at alts. every coin has just tanked so much that it seemed like a decent risk/reward for projects that i still think are legit. i treated myself to some zcash (side note - am i the first person on this sub to ever admit to actually buying ZEC? lol). it got me curious though.. have you guys still been buying this year or are you mostly sitting on heavy bags from 2017/2018?
