12/30/2019 - Update on Cash Fusion development

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:24 AM PST

As many of you already know, alpha software Fusion already works, and we do fusion transactions on mainnet on a daily basis.

Axel Gembe (u/ichundes) is working on TOR integration. This is the big piece we need to get from alpha stage to beta stage.

He gave me an update this morning:

"I had to abandon the idea of using tor as a dynamic library due to recent glibc changes. They basically disallowed loading pie executables with dlopen, even though it works well for some situations. Now i have the build system work done (except macos, i'll need likely need help with that). And the plan is to use stem to control tor using the control port (https://stem.torproject.org/index.html). It should be finished in a few weeks. The TOR binary itself will add about 2-3 mb to the appimage/exe."

    https://github.com/EchterAgo/Electron-Cash/commits/build_tor

Also, the TOR-integrated build is already deterministically reproducible, I am told.

Thanks to Axel for this amazing and critical work. If you want to send him a tip, you can do so at ichundes#102 cashaccount

Nate Henderson: "This is the most important issue in BCH and we may have one chance to get it right. BCH as a medium-of-exchange has the potential to be worth over $100 million per coin. A Dai-like stablecoin collateralized by BCH could make this number $1 billion. It only requires planning."

Bitcoin - Which pools are using non Bitcoin Core software?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 11:21 AM PST

Over the last 1.5 years there's been a rise in non Bitcoin Core software being used by mining nodes.

    https://coin.dance/blocks/historical

    It's currently at ~23%

    https://coin.dance/blocks/summary

How can we identify which pools have started to use non Bitcoin Core software? Is the software version stamped in the coinbase data and can it be filtered for via blockchair for example?

"Bitcoin can move any kind of value, but the most obvious and useful form of value it can move is monetary value. That means putting representations of units of monetary value on the network.".. This line of reasoning is exactly why I think SLP should be at the forefront of BCH adoption strategies

Record SLP token trading volume in December

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 05:13 AM PST

    Hi there,

I just wanted to say that this month we reached a record SLP token trading volume of 2200 BCH or $470,00 USD on Cryptophyl. This is equal to more than half of the total volume in the last 4 months combined.

It's amazing to see so many new users entering and learning about SimpleLedger tokens and Bitcoin Cash.

We will publish a blog shortly to summarise the progress we've made as a company and an industry shortly.

Happy new year and a huge thank you to everyone in the community,

    Semyon

Untrusted hash is at nearly 70%.

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 02:20 AM PST

There's been an influx of unknown hashpower on BCH over the last 24hrs, reaching almost 70% by now.

They can't be up to much good.

I hope that the trustworthy pools (those who have a good history of mining honestly) are keeping an eye on this.
