dApp lets you bet on future ETH/USD prices

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 06:07 PM PST

The Ether Price Wagers dApp is now live: https://etherpricewagers.github.io/v1.0

To kickstart this dApp, I posted two small wager proposals on the Mainnet which lets the first players win $10 by only betting $8, on either of the following two wagers:

    • Will the ETH/USD price be above 144.00 on 2019-12-13 22:00 (UTC)?
    • Will the ETH/USD price be below 143.00 on 2019-12-13 22:00 (UTC)?

I also placed the same wagers on the Ropsten network.

The Ether Price Wagers dApp lets you propose or accept a wager with user-defined odds, pertaining to the future ETH/USD price.

The Proposer can post a wager by selecting the following parameters:

    • Wager Amount (ETH)
    • Minimum Wager Accepted
    • Above or Below
    • Target Price
    • Resolution Date/Time
    • Profit Percentage Offered
    • Resolution Source: fiatcontract.com or MakerDAO Medianizer

For example, here is a wager that someone can post: I will bet 1 ETH, that the ETH/USD price will be above 146 immediately after 12/4/19 1:00 UTC. I am offering a 150% profit, so if you win, you will receive 2.5 ETH, for a profit of 1.5 ETH.

The Proposer may withdraw their deposit at any time before it is accepted, so you better bet against me quick before I change my mind!

This dApp has the following advantages over other prediction-based dApps:

    1. Immediate payout: You don't have to wait for dispute rounds, or for a consensus. When a wager resolves, your winnings are immediately transferred to your account.
    2. No risk of "Invalid market": You don't have to worry that your winning wager is an "invalid market".
    3. Easy to Audit: The entire client-side javascript UI is contained in just one HTML file. The solidity contracts are verified, so you can view their source code at Etherscan.
    4. 100% De-centralized: There are no server-side calls. The Resolution Sources are all called by the static contract, to other static contracts.

You can choose from two on-chain Resolution Sources (fiatcontract.com and MakerDAO Medianizer), which have both delivered ETH/USD prices flawlessly since 2017.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

A Possible bullish move on Low cap Privacy coins....!!

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 02:21 PM PST

The way things are turning out is much possible the next alt session can happen on low cap altcoins especially TradeOgre coins. There could be many reasons for that but the major reason I think why these privacy coins can do something because of PRIVACY. Because without privacy there is nothing good in this world. These projects for sure will give people freedom, A real FREEDOM.

So, I think coins such as RYO, MSR, ZER, LOKI can be big in the next few years, don't you guys think the same?

Not owning cryptocurrencies is in-and-of-itself an investment. It means investing completely in the closed-source financial system. The internet always beats intranets. Choose wisely.
