How does metamask broadcast transactions? Posted: 27 Nov 2019 04:11 AM PST I've become curious about some of metamask's security implications regarding the broadcast of transactions. When I create a transaction using metamask, does that go directly to the ethereum network node? Or does it go through an intermediary at a metamask server? (I recall myetherwallet doing something like this) If it goes directly to an ethereum node, how does it decide which node to connect to? Could my ISP theoretically identify traffic that is likely an ethereum transaction? Anything else useful to read on the subject that you could link? [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Nov 2019 02:39 PM PST Hello there! I'm writing a fun fiction book called Underground Smoothie Factory which involves cryptocurrency. I'm quite a noob in crypto and I have a theoretical question about how it works and I figured that I can get an answer here. Is it possible to create such a smart contract which will execute if a certain website is unavailable for 7 days in a row? Eg if facebook.com is unavailable for 7 days then a million dollars is sent from wallet A to wallet B. If yes, what exactly will be checking that a domain is available? A smart contract, which is distributed across blockchain, right? So, theoretically speaking, the whole world will be pinging facebook.com, checking if it's available for them? A bonus question: how would you cheat this contract? Imagine that you will get a million dollars if a contract decides that facebook.com is unavailable for 7 days in a row. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Nov 2019 11:53 PM PST Can someone tell be how big is a geth full node? I was running a full node on my 240gig ssd but had to stop. My understanding is that with recent updates less space is required. I am currently running a light node but would like to go back to full node. [link] [comments] |
