Are the Hedera Hashgraph folks scammers or just idiots?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 07:03 PM PDT

Putting aside all technical analyses of Hashgraph-such as Eric Wall's excellent posts-it is very hard for me to take Hashgraph seriously. Since the technology is patented, I have zero interest in it as a software developer. Should they make the source code publicly accessible, I would never read it for fear of exposing myself to potential litigation. Given that the source code is 100% controlled by Swirlds (parent of Hedera), the platform is effectively controlled by Swirlds regardless of how many bloody council members they have. I see zero future for this project. As far as I can tell, all their partners are either paid directly by Hedera or have common VCs.

This begs the question, are Leemon and Mance of Hashgraph idiots or are they scammers trying to make a quick buck?

Maybe this is all bunch of silliness but I see dumb adverts for them daily in the NYTimes and they annoy me. I know this isn't really relevant to Ethereum but this is my community so I thought I would ask here. </rant>

Ropsten Test-net offline for over 12h now

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 07:06 AM PDT

The Etehreum Ropsten Test-net has stopped producing blocks over 12 hours ago, is this still linked to the miner split caused by Istanbul upgrade?

I can't seem to find any information on what is happening and when it will be fixed, anyone?

With enough data and math, I could begin to predict which shards will be filled.

    This breaks the POS system.

    Am I misunderstanding?
