PNC Bank launches on Ripple's cross-border payments network - BankingDive

Question: if xrp would be used by banks to tranfer money, how would it affect xrp price?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 01:29 PM PDT

Hi all, first of all, I am a noob in crypto and been ocasionaly investing in xrp. If I understand it correctly, xrp has a potential to be picked up by banks to use it for cross border transfers. And if I am wrong forget about this question :D But initally banks would have to buy xrp so that would raise the xrp price, then they would need to sell it, so xrp would fall. So to me it seems like xrp would jump all over the place, just how it has been doing for past week or so? ( a new major bank) And it would not increase xrp value over time. Or have I been missing something?

Ripple Deal Could Make XRP Cryptocurrency Compliant

Ripple, the largest single owner of the XRP cryptocurrency (currently valued at $20 billion), has signed a deal with regulation technology startup Coinfirm, to shine new light on how the third-largest cryptocurrency is being used.

Among the new anti-money-laundering (AML) information Coinfirm will provide about cryptocurrency users is whether the cryptocurrency has been processed by technology called a "mixer," designed to launder cryptocurrency by privately exchanging funds from multiple counterparties; information on clustering, when small amounts of currency are sent via many different addresses to disguise the size of large transactions; and whether or not the funds come from a known theft or hack.
