Ethereum Communities - Creating a 'Killer' Ecosystem

While applying for a position with ConsenSys, I was asked to create a deck to highlight some of the awesome Ethereum communities out there.

I actually really enjoyed putting this together. And despite not getting the role, I figured it's only right to share. If downloaded, most/all is 'clickable'.

I focused primarily on the Fellowship of Ethereum Magicians, and the Ethereum Cat Herders.

Side Note: I'm looking for a job. I paid for graduate school with profits from mining $ETH, so I'm very grateful to this community. If anyone is looking for a motivated & dedicated guy to fill a relatively non-technical role, please do reach out.

    Thank you!

*I do not own the rights to the images used in this deck. It was simply created as part of the application process. All sources are listed at the very end, except for the images on slide #2. The media included, some of which was created by members of the Ethereum community, is there because I thought it was awesome.*.

Who #BUIDLs and Maintains the Ethereum Network?

Overview: Within the broader Ethereum community are many smaller, self-organized and -motivated communities or collectives. Each community is committed to fostering the adoption, innovation, and collaboration that will enable the Ethereum ecosystem to reach its full potential.

    Posted: 08 Sep 2019 08:52 AM PDT

Im trying to send my ETH, which are held in my blockchain wallet, to my ETH address in Poloniex, but Blockchain doesnt recognize it. The address is correct in its form (starts with 0x... and has the correct amount lf characters) but it says " contract addresses are not compatible". Has anyone struggled with similar situation?

    Stuck transaction, stuck stuck?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2019 02:34 AM PDT

I've just come across my first experience of having a transaction getting stuck, and then not being able to do anything!Usually I would just add more gas to the transaction in Metamask, but this time when I went to do it, it seemed to just show, "Transation Failed", so I went ahead and did it again, but then I noticed the next transaction on Etherscan was showing pending because " There is a Pending txn with a lower account nonce " And I went back to the one that Metamask said failed, and I see, yes it is still pending with a low gas rate. So now they're both stuck, and it looks like I'll end up paying for both?! I tried following a guide that talked about exporting private keys and doing an offline transaction with the same nonce..? But that just ended up creating another transaction with a later nonce.

What would happen if I had millions of dollars in an account? Could this happen and lock people out permanently?!!

Need some help regarding minable token

    Posted: 08 Sep 2019 08:54 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

I am developing a blockchain based platform similar to Quora along with my 3 friends. Initially we decided to build the token on Stellar for its low fees and fast transactions but due to some technical difficulties (check out my previous post if you want to know those technical difficulties) we're now switching to ETH.

So basically the platform will reward the users for posting questions and answers on the platform and obviously the rewards differ for each of these activities. There's a lot more stuff but I wouldn't go into those details for now.

At first we decided to generate 225 million tokens for the platform and the questions/answers reward would drop by 50% after every 4 million questions until there are 28 million questions on the platform. After that point, the rewards will remain constant.

Since there's no ico, team fund, development fund, marketing fund etc, there isn't any need to have 225 million coins from the very start. Is it somehow possible to create a minable token on Ethereum where the tokens are automatically generated by posting questions on the platform.

I know that 0Xbitcoin has created something like that but what I wanted to confirm is if I would be able to reduce the amount of tokens generated after there are X number of questions on the platform.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
