Crypto exchanges/companies need to register to the Dutch Central Bank by January 2020

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 02:56 AM PDT

    https://www.nu.nl/economie/5987147/cryptobedrijven-moeten-zich-melden-bij-dnb-anders-moeten-ze-uit-de-lucht.html

It was just announced that, as part of the anti money laundering EU law, crypto companies that buy and sell crypto coins have to register with the Dutch Central Bank before the 10th of January 2020. Those that do not, will not be able to offer their crypto services any longer.

I think such changes help weed out the scams and make the market more mature. What says thee?

Edit: Obviously Dutch crypto companies only :)

Just gave my first BAT tip on Reddit. Thoughts...

    Posted: 02 Sep 2019 03:43 PM PDT

I only got into Crypto back in 2016. This whole time I've been 'in it for the tech' and just focusing on trading. To the armchair enthusiast I've not been able to see much practical day-to-day adoption for most all blockchain tech. Maybe sending money across boarders but other than that I haven't really seen a practical application. That's all on me because I haven't dug in too deep. I get that.

Anyway, I was browsing reddit with Brave just a moment ago and I saw all these triangles. I normally don't Reddit on desktop so they were new to me. Short story long I gave my first BAT tip to a single post. It was a minuscule amount (10 BAT).

Next I signed up to receive tips as a 'content creator.' Which I am not. Anyway, the whole experience was pretty painless and for the first time in 3 years I feel like there is a tangible 'killer app' on the horizon.

In the event that this post isn't downvoted to oblivion i'd love to have a chat.

    • Have any content creators seen good returns with BAT tips?
    • Is it just my perception? To me it feels like people aren't making a big deal about all this. Did anyone see news of this functionality in the news? (especially when big platforms came online? wiki, twitter, reddit, etc)
    • At the risk of this post sounding like a shill post I'd like to understand differing opinions to better understand why this isn't a huge step forward for the crypto world.

    Happy Labor Day.

If you select "other" please post in the thread, where & why preferably.

I will share the results once I have concluded the poll.
