Question about how bitcoin works Posted: 07 Sep 2019 07:28 PM PDT When you sign a transaction with your private key how is not revealed to anyone on the network? Wouldn't it have to be revealed in order for the blockchain to confirm it? If you're the only person with the private key how does the network know it's legit? Answers probably straightforward and obvious I'm just trying to learn how this works because it must somehow. [link] [comments]

miniscript forward-compatible framework for bitcoin script usage and customization Posted: 07 Sep 2019 02:57 PM PDT Miniscript automates spending script satisfaction, so miniscript enabled wallets will be forward-compatible and capable of signing new scripts. How this works is the miniscript finalizer is able to figure out how to sign any miniscript, even yet to be written or user custom ones. PSBT (Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions) is a format for passing around and coordinating stages of multi-signing. miniscript automates partial and final signing of PSBT stages. before miniscript, PSBT formats needed hand coded template matching for new scripts and application specific signers. miniscript automates the partial signatures, and the full signature at finalizer stage. https://twitter.com/Blockstream/status/1170351002589040640?s=20 [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Sep 2019 06:28 PM PDT I'm currently 15 and I'm looking to get a part time job around next spring, and I really want to invest a nice portion of my paycheck into bitcoin. But I'm not really sure how much. Not like I'm gonna be getting a lot of money but I'd rather invest it than spend it on useless stuff. So any ideas on what percentage? Anything helps, thanks [link] [comments]

New to this and have a question Posted: 07 Sep 2019 07:37 PM PDT Hi I'm 16 and trying to get into crypto, and I've noticed that y'all seem to fucking despise altcoins on this sub. Why? Don't hate I'm legit wondering why. I mean this is r/bitcoin so clearly you all like bitcoin but why so much hate for the others? [link] [comments]

Some simple math as a thought exercise. Posted: 07 Sep 2019 06:41 PM PDT If you are like me, and enjoy watching the trading value of BTC as it meanders up and down, sometimes you get these moments of "uh oh" when you see a dive happening. Thoughts of selling and limiting the damage try to sneak into my mind. If that happens to you, as well, consider this: If BTC did nothing other than close up by 1 percent in a week, a simple 1 percent, then in 52 weeks a $1000 investment would return $1677.69. And if that continued for a short three years, your return would be $4722.09. That's an increase of $3722.09 for doing nothing at all. Aside from hodling. So when you see those numbers going up and down, just think to yourself: All I need is 1% out of a whole WEEK. It tends to calm my selling urges down. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Sep 2019 04:26 PM PDT I'm trying to get paid for a service anonymously (not illegal), and I would like to use Bitcoin. I like the idea of my info not being hacked, etc. BUT I don't understand how it works, or how I get the actual money, or is it actual money? I've read reddit threads, diagrams, articles, and watched a YouTube video in which a woman used legos to make her point; that one almost stuck. This is my last attempt to understand before I say screw it, I'm not meant to understand, move on. Break it down to me like I'm 4. I would be very grateful. [link] [comments]
Im all in again, Im terrible at this Posted: 07 Sep 2019 12:40 PM PDT I know i know i know just buy and hold. I sold all at 9,950 a couple weeks ago, then bought all back in again two days ago at 10,550. Then today bought some more. The worst part is I know im going to continue to mess up, not looking for help just have to vent and want to know if there are other people who want to vent about their own mistakes (not others mistakes) [link] [comments]

Did anybody else here had problems with Bitrefill and Netflix git codes? Posted: 08 Sep 2019 05:02 AM PDT I purchased a netflix code the other day from bitrefill (instantly with lightning) but the code didn't work for me (code is invalid). Netflix support told me the provider(bitrefill) didn't activate the gift card properly or something like that. sent support message to bitrefill but no respose so far. it's so frustrating.
