FINMA released some guidelines a few months back, which have turned into full-on rules for using cryptos to pay for stuff in Switzerland. Expect the guidance to be used as a backbone for other EU countries. The main focus of the guidance is to ensure that service providers conduct proper KYC (and not let that information be accidentally released) which can help identify suspicious transactions. "[B]lockchain-based business models cannot be allowed to circumvent the existing regulatory framework.
