Lack Of Transparancy Of The BitcoinDotCom Fundraiser which Concluded Three Weeks Ago.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 02:05 PM PDT

The BitcoinDotCom fundraiser ended august first, we're almost three weeks later and the money is not distributed yet with no public comment on when this will happen. There is also much unclarity in the community about what the 'general fund' will be used for specifically. It has been very quite since the deadline was reached.

I am putting a bit of puclic pressure on because I think they owe the people who donated a clear explenation to what happened/is about to happen to their money!

I did one prior post on this 9 days ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/coyef7/when_will_the_bitcoindotcom_fundraiser_funds_be/ ) and Roger Ver responded saying he would provide more clarity that very day. https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/coyef7/when_will_the_bitcoindotcom_fundraiser_funds_be/ewmwnv8?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Personally I think this whole situation is handled quite unprofessional and I hope the lack of transparancy is resolved soon.

    My recent experiences using BCH

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 02:53 PM PDT

I purchased several plane tickets from cheapair.com and destinia.com. for only a small amount above the price of the cheapest flights on skyscanner.com

I booked several hotel rooms from cheapair.com for nearly the same price as what I found on hotels.com and booking.com.

I successfully, safely, and easily shuffled BCH using electron cash. (Thank you Jonald Fyookball and everyone).

I plan to try trading on local.bitcoin.com shortly.

I was able to spend and replace all of these purchases quite easily through coinbase and another website.

Fees were nonexistant, privacy with cashuffle was reasonable, wait times were very reasonable (once the transaction was sent, I basically didn't have to worry about it).

If cashuffle could have been quicker, then I all of this would have been much faster, but I assume speeds in that department will improve with time.

Thank you to Amaury, Jonathan Toomlin, Jonald, Mark L, and everyone else who works behind the scenes.

Bitcoin Verde now indexes and validates SLP Transactions.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 10:24 AM PDT

Bitcoin Verde now validates and indexes SLP transactions. You can check the validity of SLP Txns via its explorer.

    Valid SLP Txn Example: https://bitcoinverde.org/?search=34DD2FE8F0C5BBA8FC4F280C3815C1E46C2F52404F00DA3067D7CE12962F2ED0

    Invalid SLP Txn Example: https://bitcoinverde.org/?search=08937051BA961330600D382A749262753B8A941E9E155BA9798D2922C2CE3842

How it works: the SLP DAG is validated when a new block/transaction is received from the node. The validation is done in ascending order (oldest first), and the result is cached within the node. When a new transaction comes in, its parent has already been (in)validated which makes validation exceptionally fast. The explorer makes use of the same cached validation data, so what the explorer sees is the same as what the node thinks is invalid.

Going forward, Bitcoin Verde will not relay invalid SLP transactions. I encourage other nodes to consider similar behavior.

EDIT: You guys have crashed the explorer, but it's back up now. Thanks for the accidental load testing. :)

I thought blockchains couldn't interact directly, so is it just a transaction that only takes place after a given tx takes place on another chain it can monitor some how?

An important take that many in the Bitcoin community don't like to admit about ICOs

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 05:28 PM PDT

    From The Defiant:

What drove Vitalik Buterin to write the Ethereum whitepaper was the idea of a featureless platform. The lego bricks versus the Swiss knife. Less than two years after Ethereum launched, one use case started gaining popularity: Fundraising. Startups could now raise money directly from investors across the globe, without having to go through Wall Street or Silicon Valley.

The lack of regulation, the misalignment between investors and startups, and the extreme greed on all sides, attracted scammers. Some Bitcoiners have been recently calling out the Ethereum community to take responsibly for investors who lost money because of failed tokens. I think:

    1. Ethereum developers built a platform that allowed anyone to build anything. Bitcoin was also built as an open system for people to use however they want, and it's used as a store of value, and also to launder money, to fund terrorism, to hold ransomware attacks, etc. Bitcoin developers shouldn't be held responsible for those nefarious uses, just like Ethereum developers shouldn't be held responsible for failed ICOs.

How do I authorize Tipbitcoin.cash in Twitch?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 01:51 PM PDT

Hi everybody. I'n searching for two days on the internet for an answer but couldn't find any so far so redit is just like jesus my last hope after you tried all drugs, lol

I hear about Tipbitcoin.cash and wanna try it. So I made an account, had to make Twitch account too. Then I found out I had to install OBS, so I did. Then I found out it had to be Streamlabs OBS, so I did. Then I found out Streamlabs didn;t work on Linux. So I installed it on my Windows machine. Then I found out streamlabs is a buggy program that doesn't work very well on any windows machine I have, so I went back to OBS studio that works very well on linux. Then i found out I can use the streamlab widgets with the linux browser plugin for OBS studio, so I did.

But now Tipbitcoin.cashstill doesn't work. i can create widgets that work but the Tipbitcoin.cash doesn't wotk and lots of times if I click to send an amount the webpage of tipbitcoin.cash got frozen.

The people who created it have not realy a feedback option. Only a twitter account. Maybe somebody here hasgot this thing running? Please let me know.
