Posted: 16 Jun 2019 11:00 AM PDT Built a simple custom crypto payment processor and put it to use on a simple e-commerce store. Addresses are dynamically created on an exchange with an API call, then an API call checks if a payment has been made to that address using a block explorer. Used Gemini and Bitaps & Chainso. (Two block explorers incase one is down). Faster than Coinbase Commerce and similar products because it doesn't wait for confirmations. Can also set it to allow a ~1% price difference. Sometimes people forget to calculate the sending fees when making payments and many crypto payment solutions cancel the order all together if the receivable amount is off by .000001. I assume the reasoning is that because the overall demand for Litecoin isn't big enough the price won't rise enough to avoid losing hashing power, leading to a weaker network. In contrast Bitcoin has such robust demand that when it halves the price will reliably rise more quickly to a point where miners are making money again, thus restoring hashing power more reliably. Is there any statistical evidence to back this up? Is there any other argument that supports this claim. I'd like to know even if the argument is wrong.
