The news is out. BCH is does not have central management or sponsorship. And, everyone insisting it did was lying. Btw, which bitcoins are not crowd sourcing development? Oh yeah. The bitcoins that are already sponsored.

The enemies of bitcoin are rabid. They can't help themselves. Funding development isn't an insurmountable problem. Let's solve it, and win.

Edit: derp, typo in the post title.

Is there or will there be a BCH alternative to d.live?

They have a great thing going for them. But just like BAT, its inflationary, arbitrary economic model is going to be inferior in the end. Have or will we create a platform that rewards video content creators in BCH?

Can we figure out a way to gamify merchant adoption?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2019 07:12 PM PDT

I think this could spur more people to accept bitcoin cash; in addition to possibly being fun?

Maybe donation based pool funds the people who introduce merchants, and the merchants.

A bit challenging as need to install a mechanism to filter out fakes or system abusers .

    Cheers! :)

*maybe a rpg type system where the more merchants u onboard gives u points which u can use to buy armor or something like that lol

Astroturf/bot accounts are among us. Here's one I identified today.

    Posted: 16 Jun 2019 06:49 AM PDT

I first noticed an abnormality in this thread yesterday, when I noticed that user /u/yudi222 posted a comment that was 100% identical to a comment made earlier in the thread by /u/buy_the_fucking_dip.

    Original comment

    /u/yudi222's comment

Upon looking at this user's profile, I saw that he had one other recent comment in /r/btc: https://i.imgur.com/rc9BAWY.png

I checked out the full thread, and sure enough... https://i.imgur.com/uAVjxJ8.png

If you look at /u/yudi222's account, you can see that it was registered nearly 12 years ago. However, his most recent submission activity began only two months ago and his earliest comments began only one year ago, generally being very low-effort posts in NSFW subreddits where his comments would be likely to be upvoted.

It's hard to say what the motivation behind this account is, but it's quite clear that an older, seasoned account was purchased and has more recently been used to farm karma to create the illusion of being a long-standing real user of Reddit.

Be vigilant out there. Be aware that there are astroturf accounts pushing hidden agendas. And always use Reddit Enhancement Suite! (Also the creator of RES accepts donations in BCH!)

If Facebook creates decentralized money and onboards billions of users, then this is a very good thing. If Facebook creates centralized money and onboards billions of users, all Facebook has done is stolen Paypal/Visa customers. In both cases decentralized money still wins. In 1 case your bags lose.

    Real Value of Flexa??

    Posted: 16 Jun 2019 06:17 PM PDT

Flexa has enabled businesses to receive payments in cryptocurrency as a means to cut out card fees. Well, businesses don't exactly receive payments in crypto, but customers can pay in crypto and Flexa gives the merchant the USD equivalent. However, I understand that everyone who owns or wants to own crypto needs to buy crypto online with a credit or debit card- and this comes with a fee of usually 3-5% of the transaction amount (at least on major crypto exchanges). So customers end up paying the interchange fees instead of the merchant. So what is the true value of enabling crypto payments?

BCH contest, for the most creative and original forms of advertisement bringing a positive impact for Bitcoin Cash

    Posted: 16 Jun 2019 08:17 AM PDT

Somehow this is something that I don't see here often, and it seems fun.

    Here are the guidelines:

    1. Think outside of the box, advertisement should be catchy, unexpected, like an art form, probably slightly mocking or rebellious. The goal is to create awareness but focusing on the positive impact the technology can bring.
You should not be afraid to stir the pot, but responsibly.

    2. Forms of 'street' marketing are encouraged because of their borderless and permissionless nature.

    3. Submit a photo in the thread to participate. Submissions will be evaluated based on originality and creativity, and impact (quality and broadness of it).
It should reach a fair amount of people but most important the people reached should understand the message (or be curious enough so search for it).

    4. Contest ends 30th of June at a non specific time, so be sure to submit until 29th the latest.

    1st prize - 0.4 BCH
    2nd prize - 0.25 BCH
prize based on most voted - 0.2 BCH
(the most voted prize might add up to one of the other ones).
