    It's Tipping Tuesday (FAQ link)!

Today's topic: Bringing peer to peer electronic cash to the world!

Special thanks to u/Damascene_U who wrote up an Arabic translation of the Tipping Tuesday FAQ in the last few days. Hopefully we can gather some interest for Bitcoin (Cash) from the Arabic-speaking community, which is a major world language group.

While looking for resources on how to use tippr and Bitcoin Cash, I saw that our main websites still need a lot of community help for translations. For example, even Arabic & Greek versions are not available on main websites. Together, we as a community can change this.

For newcomers: Welcome! Leave an insightful comment or a good question and receive a tip from our generous community! Put some effort in and you will be rewarded!

I especially encourage those who've never received a tip to come forward! Small tips here are intended to let newcomers experience Bitcoin Cash for themselves. Your chance to receive a tip is better if your posting history speaks in favor of you being new to Bitcoin and curious / open-minded about trying it.

For everyone who's done this before: Use any tipbot of your choice! [1] [2]

No set recommended minimum or maximum - tip as you think the comments deserve.

Pros and cons of each tipping bot? I'm creating an info thread. Feel free to contribute, ask questions etc.

[Showerthought] In a nutshell, BCH wants to do in a second what BTC can do in a day. 5 txs per day for 10B users comes out to roughly 570K txs per second.

If you want to help spread more economic freedom to the world, and think BCH is a good tool for that, take a moment to post a sell add on local.bitcoin.com to help more people have access to it!

Think of how far ahead BTC could have been in the world today if it hadn't been coopted to intentionally make the fees high, and transactions slow and unreliable.....

About half of the hash power mining BTC is BCH-friendly (according to what i understand).

    Posted: 18 Jun 2019 11:28 AM PDT

Disclaimer: By BCH friendly i mean to mine BCH on the side and there not be evidence of open hostility towards BCH.

I might be wrong about some of these pools, so if that's the case, then please correct me in the comments.

Here is my analysis as of June 18th, 2019:

    "BCH-friendly": BTC.com: 18.3% AntPool: 14.3% ViaBTC: 9.6% Bitcoin.com: 1.4% Edit: Poolin: 9.7%

Total: 43.6%, for a total of (60×0.438) 26.16 of the 60 exahashes. Edit: Plus 9.7%.

    Not "BCH-friendly" f2pool: 11.1% Slushpool: 9.7% Poolin: 9.7% (edited) BTC.top: 7.5% Bitfury: 4.1% Bitclub Network: 1.7%

    Total: 43.8%, for a total of (60×0.438) 26.8 of the 60 exahashes. Edit: -9.7%.

    Other: 12.6%

And then of course you have all the hashpower backing Bitcoin Cash, which is about 2 exahashes.

If all the hashpower from Bitcoin BTC came to fight on the Bitcoin Cash battlefield, assuming the unknown portion on BTC would sit out or be split, and assuming everything ive analyzed as "BCH-friendly would choose to defend BCH, Bitcoin Cash would win by about over 1.4 exahashes

There is nothing to fear. BTC has no idea its even poised to be flipped.

    Edit:

More nuances: If the bitcoin sv miners decide to jump on and help attack bitcoin cash, then that's another exahash to fight. BCH would then have an advantage of about one third to half an exahash to work with.

BCH also has reorg protection, which i believe makes it harder on attackers to seriously mess up a chain, at least passed the 2 hour mark.

Its possible that not all of the mining pools would participate either, and a single mining pool sitting out could completely change the tide of such a battle.

All in all i still see about a 50-55% chance of success, and if we continue gaining on BTC like we have been, then our chances will only get better.

Radix DLT successfully replaying BTC history twice, with peaks of over 1 Million TPS.

    Posted: 19 Jun 2019 01:23 AM PDT

Last week, we've replayed BTC history on the 12th and 13th of June.

    On the 12th, we've peaked at 1 089 887 TPS.

    On the 13th we've managed to reach 1 210 938 TPS

On the 19th, 17:00 London time we'll try to reach over 1 million TPS again.

    Why is this test different?

We've used the entire BTC ledger to perform this test on a network of over 1000 nodes, spread across the world, in 17 cities around the world. It's the first test that used objectively verifiable data - Bitcoin has processed a large number of transactions over the last decade (over 400 million transactions and 460 million addresses) and is an open, fair and transparent data set. The test is performed with full transaction and signature validation.

Interested in how we did it?

The following technical blog posts explain our methodology and the step-by-step chronology of how we achieved this throughput.

Where can I see the test?

The next test will happen today (the 19th of June), 17:00 London time, right here - https://test.radixdlt.com/

Can someone explain to me what the process is for creating a custom logo for a token?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2019 06:40 PM PDT

I can't seem to find any information on this, any insight would be appreciated. I see a lot of great BCH token icons. The Honk token icon is awesome, lol.

I'm just curious how I can put a cool icon on a token I create. What's the process? Where can I read more about it?

    Thanks for any help!
