Most profitable cryptocurrencies to mine ever (Looking for historical info)

    Hi,

I'm writing a written piece on mining and trying to find out what the most profitable cryptocurrencies to mine were. I don't see a piece on this specific subject, and I'd like to fact check in any case. Does anyone know of any resources that could point me in the right direction?

    Spread spectrum: enable or disable?

    Posted: 05 May 2019 06:00 PM PDT

Do you keep this feature enable or disable for your mining rigs?

Based on all the material that I've read online, it seem that the best case scenario is to disable spread spectrum. But these article are mostly written from the stand point that you have a single machine running in overclocking settings.

But when it comes to a mining farm, since all our rigs are quite close to each other and they are all located in one location, EMI (electro magnetic interference) might be a problem for all our hardware that is pack so close to each other. EMI itself can cause instability. Thus I figure that spread spectrum should be set to enable. We neither overclock our motherboard nor want EMI to the local rig and other rigs.

So I was curious if others has look into this setting and what is your best advice when it comes to spread spectrum settings on your motherboard mining rigs.

    Thanks.

[NVidia]Word of warning, don't upgrade to 430.39 drivers

    Posted: 05 May 2019 02:40 PM PDT

I run a mix of 1070ti and 1080ti's, with a single 2060. I updated to the newest drivers today, figuring that at worst I won't see any performance gain, and at best, I might actually get some.

In fact, what happened is my 2060 stopped working. It showed up in device manager, in afterburner, and it seemed to be working in t-rex miner, but it was only pulling idle power and sitting at idle temp. Minermore also showed a drop in hashrate equal what the 2060 averages.

A quick revert thanks to a restore point and everything is working once again.

tldr; don't upgrade to the 430.39 drivers. If you do, make sure that you have a restore point created.
