Posted: 31 May 2019 07:45 AM PDT https://github.com/EYBlockchain/nightfall Exciting (IMO) because: - it represents a shift of thinking towards public blockchains for institutions (from private blockchains) - triggers a conversation around privacy trade offs (vs. auditability & compliance) - very serious institutions (who are trusted by regulators etc.) putting serious resources into mainnet development - sits alongside other protocols (e.g. Aztec) to show different approaches towards confidentiality through layer 2 protocols [link] [comments]

Everything I need to know about scaling? Posted: 31 May 2019 02:01 PM PDT As a total noob I'm trying to collect information about ethereum's so-called scaling problem. I understand that at the moment it supports more tx/s than bitcoin at a lesser cost, but that the tx/s are still significantly less than something like EOS. I've seen references to the fact that etherum has "scaling" problems and that these might be addressed by...plasma? Casper? Something else? If anybody could help clear up the fog with regard to this concept I'd greatly appreciate it! It seemed like something that might be in the main pinned post but doesn't look to be. How can I best set up a high-availability Ethereum node? Posted: 31 May 2019 09:30 PM PDT I have some local 'powerful' desktop hardware I would like to use for testing this. I would like to roll this out to AWS or GCP, in full or in part, for even more redundancy once I get it working. How can I best run a high-availability geth or parity node? I found this git repo that that looks interesting potentially. All advice is very appreciated! https://github.com/ethersphere/swarm-kubernetes [link] [comments]
Submit a hash to the blockchain Posted: 31 May 2019 05:20 AM PDT Which is the easiest way to save a hashed document on the Ethereum blockchain? Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
MGN Pool Contract — The easiest way to get voting power in the dxDAO Posted: 31 May 2019 05:02 AM PDT The dxDAO is a next generation decentralized autonomous organization for community governance of software protocols. It launched May 29th, 2019 at dxdao.daostack.io. Most DAOs launching today have predefined members, but not this one. May 29th kicked off a month long initialization period for anyone to earn voting power. The largest volume of voting power in the dxDAO will be given to Magnolia (MGN) holders. You can generate MGN by trading whitelisted tokens on the DutchX protocol. In total, registered MGN holders will receive 50% of the voting power distributed during this the Vote Staking Period. Want to be part of the dxDAO, but don't have time to trade yourself? Don't worry, the MGN pooling contract is here to help. This is a contract that pools funds from users and automatically trades them on the DutchX during the Vote Staking Period in order to generate MGN! The MGN pooling contract will run from May 29th, 2019, until June 23rd, 2019. How to participate? You will only need to carry out three actions: DEPOSIT TOKEN, WITHDRAW TOKENS/MAGNOLIA & LOCK MAGNOLIA. Deposit token: For this step, you will simply need to select which tokens you want to pool. It can be ETH, GNO, or DAI. Note that you can always deposit more tokens once the pooling starts, but you cannot withdraw tokens you already deposited until the pooling period ends. WITHDRAW TOKENS/MAGNOLIA: Once the period ends, you will be able to claim and withdraw the remainder of the tokens you pooled. This step will withdraw your tokens and also your MGN. You will still need to wait 24 hours to lock the MGN in order for it to accrue Reputation. LOCK MAGNOLIA: Now, you need to lock your MGN on the same interface in order to have those counted towards your Reputation score for the dxDAO. It is very important that you lock your MGN, or else you will not receive Reputation. Also please note that registering your wallet on the Vote Staking Interface is not the same as locking your MGN here. You will still need to register your Wallet that contains/will contain the locked MGN during the Vote Staking Period for MGN counting. Try the MGN pooling contract here. For a more detailed guide on how to use the interface, check this guide. Important: This pool has the sole purpose to easily generate Magnolia tokens by taking part in every auction on your behalf. You may only claim back your share of the remaining tokens at the end of the pooling period. By taking part in the pool, you understand that you might incur substantial losses of tokens if auctions close below the market price and your token balance to be reclaimed may in fact be nil (0).
