rCryptocurrency subreddit is becoming ridiculously censored & unusable. They're now implementing a "whitelist" of approved sources. Of course, any BCH-friendly website is banned (news.bitcoin.com, coinspice.io, trustnodes.com, etc).

rCryptocurrency subreddit is now implementing a "whitelist" of approved sources.

On their whitelist are DCG propaganda site CoinDesk.com, and Bitcoin BTC maximalist sources like bitcoinist.com and Jimmy Song's medium.com blog page.

Of course, any BCH-friendly website is banned. In fact, any website that has mentioned CashShuffle is banned (news.bitcoin.com, coinspice.io, trustnodes.com, ambcrypto.com, bitcoinexchangeguide.com).

I think Jonathan Silverblood has brought tremendous value to BCH during his period of full time work on Cashaccounts and CashID - please give him a round of applause, and continue to support him when he becomes less involved out of necessity.

It would probably be best not to care about /r/cryptocurrency anymore. Lots of us have provided them with good stuff, but it's just a waste of time. Let's fill up /r/btc with high quality stuff and before we know it we got 1000 000 subs with 10 000 of users active at any given time.

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 06:40 PM PDT

I mean I get it. We want our stuff to be seen. I was happy that one day I got a top post on /r/cryptocurrency. But why do I care? If they don't want real people to post real stuff there ... that's their problem. Not mine and not ours.

Yeah it look like they got 800 000 subscribers, but so what?

I am going to try to not care about that sub anymore. Cause /r/btc is already far better.

The Hash Wars have proved one thing among others: Hard-forks are a super safe, elegant and rock solid way of upgrading the protocol. The original stance of Core developers to "Never Hard-Fork" was either a lie or incredible incompetence.

As I write that the shuffle transaction is not yet confirmed but thanks to BCH it will not take hours/days like BTC. ~284k USD shuffle for less than 1 penny! Awesome!

[Question] - How does one test/confirm the security of the seed phrase that any particular wallet software implementation generates?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 04:52 PM PDT

Regardless of the types of derivation path, or whether it is BIP32, or BIP39, or BIP44, or BIP38, or BIP49.

After verifying signatures/checksums of the downloaded installation of any wallet software implementation, how does one objectively verify, for example, if all the developers of any one particular implementation have not simply encoded/colluded a seed phrase generator for which they might have an ability to re-create the seeds/keys in the future (unbeknownst to users) through the use of their own knowledge in knowing which way their code would generate users seeds?

I know that, for example, iancoleman.io is a place where one can test BIP39 but it seems to be lacking some functionality in testing many seed phrases, which is primarily what I'd like to test on many of my own phrases generated from several different wallet providers/software implementations.

What's the real number? We know by the nature of their announcement that 74% is the absolute ROSIEST picture they can paint - one can only wonder what the truth is. If you still have money in Tether or on Tether-affiliated exchanges please get it out now. The end is very fucking nigh.
