We're relaunching Truffle University - and we want to train you for free this Spring! Posted: 23 Apr 2019 02:45 PM PDT Hey all, Last year we launched Truffle University as a way to find, train, and hire blockchain engineers for the whole ecosystem. We received hundreds of responses from eager, enthusiastic engineers looking to make a career change. We quickly learned we had our work cut out for us, and we immediately went heads down to build a world class partner program that'll give trainees exciting places to land. Well, with this post, I'm happy to say we've succeeded. We've recruited over 50 partner companies looking to hire newly minted blockchain engineers, right now. Now all we need is you to signup and gain the skills needed to become a professional blockchain engineer. After successfully completing the course, you'll gain access to our partner network who are actively looking to hire engineers like you. We're starting new online courses this spring and summer, tailored specifically to you. That said, we're being very selective about our candidates. In order to support the needs of our partner companies, we're looking for existing mid to senior-level engineers who live or are willing to relocate to the following areas:
If this is you, don't hesitate to sign up. Because I heart you, and this is my community, you can also feel free to reach out to Scott Olson from Truffle (scott at trufflesuite dot com) to get your application processed more quickly. You can find more info at the following link. We'd love to have you as part of this year's courses. https://truffleframework.com/university Cheers! Tim [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Apr 2019 03:01 PM PDT Hey guys! Single developer here working on an Oculus blockexplorer. Why? Because I want to & strongly believe that spatial computing is far more engaging & educative than it's counterparts. I started by working on the Ethereum world & I'm *finally* far enough that I feel comfortable sharing it for feedback. For now, the main use case / value-add is limited to analyzing gas distribution & learning about different tokens on hover (as shown in le video). https://reddit.com/link/bgmc4w/video/rjgdcvny43u21/player Additionally, I have a roadmap of ideas for future features such as: - Email Research Notifications (track a specific wallet or contract for changes) - Multi-Entry Search (search by block height, block hash, txs hash, etc…) - Historical Timeline (display note-worthy events such as ICOs/Forks/Regulatory news) But now, I'd like to hear from YOU my fellow creatives! What, if any additional features, would make this a more engaging and/or educational tool? Thinking of launching it for free or a very cheap one-time purchase (gotta cover some variable costs) so no specific target market - anyone from a cryptoenthusiast to a hardcore researcher that has a headset at home. What are your favorite non-fungible token use cases? Posted: 23 Apr 2019 12:45 AM PDT A non-fungible token (NFT) on the blockchain is a token that represents a unique asset, either digital or physical. Such a token holds a unique string of metadata pertaining only to that specific unique asset. Therefore, an NFT cannot be replaced by any other token, since no other token - even that adhering to the same token standard (ERC-721) - cannot substitute its metadata. We at 0xcert have identified more than 30 use cases for non-fungible tokens in real world. Our favorite ones are:
Fundraising: In the case of a disaster, a limited number of NFTs could be created for all the donors to restoration funds. Special tokens would record their donation on the blockchain and keep it stored for decades, adding transparency to the fundraiser. [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Apr 2019 05:58 AM PDT Hey guys, In an old text file, I found an ETH address which contains a few hundred bucks in tokens and below it, something that I assume is supposed to allow me to access said tokens, but it isn't in any kind of format that I recognize. It looks something like this: Qu3N-xPRi-jhtC-CxMD-QiGx-xUKK In the above example, I represent the types of characters used and the format in which they appear, but obviously, I have changed it around so that it isn't exactly what appears in my text file. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
