I am a Bitcoin supporter and developer, and I'm starting to think that Bitcoin Cash could be better, but I have some concerns, is anyone willing to discuss them?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2019 05:40 AM PDT

My concerns are from two types, scaling and community.

Scaling: I agree with scaling onchain. I mean 32Mb is fine, even 128MB is fine, but 1GB or 1TB blocks is crazy. Is the community open to second layer scaling too? What is the current development status of UTXO commitment?

Community: The only thing that really turns me down on Bitcoin Cash is arguments like "the whitepaper", censorship (I've also been banned from r/Bitcoin on the past, but it's just a platform) or blockstream spies.

Can we have a discussion without trashing BTC or other cryptocurrencies. I think Bitcoin Cash has enough good things to promote.

PSA: BTC onchain transaction throughput has a vertical supply curve, $100 per transaction is nothing.

The difference between demand required to create equilibrium at $1, $1k, or $1M is nearly zero and, therefore, future fees are impossible to predict.

Now that BTC blocks are full again (like we all predicted easily) and fees on BTC are close to 1 USD again. We should totally organize another community scaling test.

    Posted: 25 Apr 2019 10:10 AM PDT

But a usefull one, where jtoomim and the other devs/miners get lots of useufull data on how good xthinner, compact blocks, graphene are all working.

Last scaling test, around 20 MB we started seeing some orphans.

    20 MB = 20 000 000 bytes = 20 000 000 satoshis or 0.2 BCH per block.

At current market price that is around 60 USD. 6 times 24 times 60 = 8640 USD for 24 hours of 20 MB blocks.

That's a lot of money, but don't need all of that is we time making or transactions and use the stresstest tools from last time.

So we should aim for 4000 USD worth of tx in half a day.

And we shoud all be ready to forward the news of the stresstest to all the media outlest we can. Get it in mainstream news if we are lucky. I am ready to hit my dutch channels with it and get it in to dutch media.

What do you guys think? Good idea or not?

Video from Bitcoin Out Loud: "Why Should an Average Joe Care About Bitcoin?" (SPOILER ALERT: It Will Save You Money!)

    Posted: 25 Apr 2019 05:52 PM PDT

Tether is eventually going to go down and so will Bitfinex and all exchanges exposed to it to much. Don't think that BCH will be able to keep above 200 dollars when it happens. But the BTC/BCH price will go on favor of BCH.

    Posted: 25 Apr 2019 05:35 PM PDT

I know (but lack evidence) that Tether is being used by TPTB to control the price of crypto. If they decide to crash the market, the markets will crash. Meaning BTC price under 1000, BCH under 100.

But BCH has a fair chance at leading the bull market after and having a higher market price than BTC and more hashrate.

BCH works as money at 1 USD, at 100 USD and at 1000 USD.

It would actually be really great for adoption to have a year where the market price of BCH does not fluctuate more then 10% up and down.

I know that does not get us rich (which is also important) but it will be a great time for accumulating more BCH will safely use it as money. I am convinced that people that have 50% of their capital in BCH will not get hit as hard by a new financial crisis. Cause one is coming ... just nobodys knows when ....
