The people who say "miners are intermediaries" miss the point. It takes a _single_ LN hub acting in _isolation_ to block your Lightning payment. It takes the _majority_ of miners acting together in _unison_ to block (the confirmation of) your payment in Bitcoin.

The delisting of BSV is not a victory of the BCH community

    Posted: 17 Apr 2019 09:45 AM PDT

A few people have said this before me but they've been dismissed without much thought. Shoutout to /u/toro_ro for https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/bdqzzb/bsv_delisting_is_setting_a_dangerous_precedent/ . He was exactly right.

The delisting of BSV is not a victory of the BCH community because it's not a battle we were allowed to fight in. We tried really fucking hard to fight in it too. From day one of the split, the BCH community was very publicly calling out the toxic speech and unethical tactics being employed by the two BSV figureheads. The exchanges didn't give a fraction of a shit what we had to say though. Not even when they threatened to STEAL MONEY from them.

Instead, the battle was fought between two dickhead with big opposing egos. One of those dickheads just happened to run an exchange. He finally put his foot down when the other dickhead threatened sue one of his BTC maximilist, lightning shill buddies. That buddy was as anti-BCH as they come. This fight had nothing to do with us.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy with the outcome here but it came about for all the wrong reasons. Yes it's great that people are finally pointing at the giant narcissistic elephant in the room. What's not great is that exchanges have the power to make or break a coin on a whim. Especially when the largest exchanges are run by people who do not share our ethics or support our cause of sound money for everyone.

Now I'm not saying exchanges shouldn't delist bad actors. It's their platform. They should do as they like, period. The power that they have over coins is just an unintended ( and arguably undesirable ) consequence of us having built the infrastructure in the way that we did. Decentralized exchanges cannot come soon enough.

We can celebrate the delisting if that makes us feel nice but don't think for a second our actions caused it or that the exchanges finally listened to us. They did not. Also know that those same exchanges have been hard at work looking for data to justify doing to us what they've wanted to do since the day BCH was born: bleed us dry then suffocate us to death.

Go and support you local BCH merchant today

    Posted: 17 Apr 2019 03:14 PM PDT

I stopped by a coffee place today that I had previously onboarded all to find that they didn't have the BCH payment option available anymore.
I'll take some of the blame for this because It had been months since I last visited them. Anyway, I did send them a tip via Twitter when I got home, and hope they add the option, once I start going there more often.

Moral of the story: Be sure to go out and support your local Bitcoin Cash merchant(s) often enough.

Also, a shoutout to u/CryptoStrategies , u/MemoryDealers , and anyone else who is already doing so.

A super simple idea for a BCH backed stablecoin.

    Posted: 17 Apr 2019 10:57 PM PDT

A Bitcoin Cash backed stablecoin built on Bitcoin Cash:

    1) All the stablecoins are backed by a pool of Bitcoin Cash. To redeem your Bitcoin Cash, you just have to execute a smart contract.

    2) As the price of Bitcoin Cash rises, the amount of BCH backing these coins is divided proportionally. As the price of BCH lowers, this amount is restored. Possibly done through oracles.

    3) To initially get some of the stablecoin, you have to lock up some Bitcoin Cash in a smart contract. Some kind of self-adjusting onboarding fee will be required to ensure that the BCH pool is substantial. From here on out, the stablecoin is cheap and usable as cash, also its a token on the BCH blockchain so all your money is in one place.

That's it. I think that's simpler than Maker, and it strengthens the value proposition of Bitcoin Cash.

    Thoughts?

    Counting BCH supporters

I feel like lately I see more and more names popping up here that support Bitcoin Cash. If you support BCH, please leave ONE comment below. I want to see how many total comments this post can reach. Maybe I'll try the same thing six months from now to see the difference.

"Bitcoin" word is not owned by BTC. Bitcoin Cash has the right to include it in part of its name, and that does not make it a scam. It's Bitcoin Cash (BCH). If that's all you have against Bitcoin Cash (nomenclature), you should rethink it.

‪By using currency you are engaging with reality. Profit = revenue - costs.

Sitting on your ass and hodling 100% of your crypto is a dumbass move because u r just waiting for a magical deux ex machina.

Bitcoin in 2013 was all about engagement. Alpaca socks, merchants, all that cool stuff.

Not lazy ass sitting waiting for institutional screaming bakkt bakkt till your lungs got tired.‬

I think it's ok to hodl 99% of ur crypto; but please use the 1%. Engage with reality whether on Bitcoin Cash or Dogecoin.

Let's not wait for the revolution but stir it up within our own hearts.
