How do you deal with anti-crypto prejudice from society? Posted: 28 Apr 2019 01:33 AM PDT Over the last couple of years I made the mistake of talking about crypto to people and now that crypto has crashed, people keep trying to point out that I am a loser and they keep arguing with me why crypto is a poor investment. Even though I have diversified across all asset classes (not just crypto but property, bonds, stocks, etc) once you talk about crypto then you become known as "the crypto guy" and people assume you hold all your wealth in crypto and they keep bullying me about it. I keep telling people that the crash from 20k to 6k is nothing compared to the crash from 1000 to 200 and the crash from 30 to 2. Bitcoin always comes back on the long run, and bitcoin has intrinsic value as a decentralised store of value almost a digital gold or offshore investment not beholden to any one jurisdiction. But people are so focused on recent price movements that they forget that now is the time to accumulate. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Apr 2019 04:47 PM PDT I am running a bitcoin core node on an old windows 7 laptop which i leave running 24/7. I now wanna run it on top of Tor with a relay node, i have downloaded the tor browser but this i where I'm stuck. I have read through numerous articles and you tube videos about setting this up but most are on Linux systems or not explained simple enough for a newbie like myself. Just wondering if any 1 knows of any simple step by step instructions. Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Apr 2019 12:06 AM PDT I read that "private sales that do not exceed 600 euros are tax exempted." It is not clear per what? A sale? A tax year? A month..? [link] [comments]
Lighting network mobile wallet, where are private keys stored? Posted: 27 Apr 2019 06:05 PM PDT Hello is there a mobile lightning network wallet out yet where you can control your private keys, or is it all custodial at the moment? [link] [comments]

Why is Coin Control showing different balance than any block explorer? Posted: 28 Apr 2019 03:05 AM PDT A rather technical question, but I turned on Coin Control Features in the setting of Bitcoin Core wallet. When clicking Inputs... on the Send tab, I see various addresses to which I've withdrawn BTC. Now my main address shows a different Amount than any block explorer out there. (Block explorer shows less than Coin Control shows.) My other addresses show correct amounts. I didn't send anything out from those other addresses, only main address has been used much. Why is this difference there? [link] [comments]

Is it technically possible to broadcast a transaction with a fee less than 1 sat/byte ? Posted: 28 Apr 2019 01:36 AM PDT Say there's a future where bitcoin has increased in value dramatically from its current price, but lightning and other scaling efforts have been very successful to the point where 1sat/byte transactions can still clear within a few blocks. If the value of bitcoin is really high then a 1 sat/byte transaction could in theory be a massive fee, and then the fee market is burdened by this high lower limit. Would it then be possible for users to try and lowball the fee market with sub 1 sat/byte transactions? [link] [comments]

What is the true value of a Satoshi? Posted: 27 Apr 2019 09:13 PM PDT People like to compare Bitcoin to lots of things like precious metals, collectibles, even stocks. Bitcoin isn't going away and as old ways fade and die out, freedom wins for good. [link] [comments] |
