You have no idea how close we are to mainstream adoption. Posted: 16 Apr 2019 12:22 AM PDT The internet was considered adopted by the mainstream by the year 2000. In the year 2000 the internet had four hundred million users wordwide. Today bitcoin has sixty million users adding one million new users per month, and this is accellerating following an exponential adoption curve (Stats courtesy of Wences Casares of Xapo). It took bitcoin ten years to reach sixty million users. It will take a maximium of five more years to go from sixty million users to four hundred million users, as is the nature of exponential curves, and this is inline with the adoption rate of the internet. Bitcoin will be considered mainstream at four hundred million users worldwide, and that will take place by the year 2024, possibly earlier if bitcoin is adopted faster than the internet was, given that bitcoin adoption does not require any physical hardware like a dial-up-modem etc. Its hard to imagine today but mainstream adoption is sneaking up on us silently and quicker than we can comprehend. In the future bitcoin may be the base settlement layer for global value transfer. Posted: 15 Apr 2019 08:04 PM PDT IMO second layers make peer to peer electronic cash a reality. The Bitcoin chain because of its security becomes the base settlement layer for the most economically dense transactions/settlements. The base layer will not only be for Bitcoin settlement though, I think all value transfers (that need robust security) will settle on it via bitcoin collateralized smart contracts. Thoughts? After 3 years of investing, I have finally joined the 21 million club! Posted: 15 Apr 2019 09:40 AM PDT I feel such a sense of relief now that I have my goal. I will keep buying more, but after today I finally don't feel the anxiety that 1 btc will grow out of my reach before I can grab it. For everyone else trying to do the same, make your moves now while it's cheap. Don't wait for a lower dip, because that's what I did 3 years ago that lead to me waiting another 3 years till I could reach my goal. Because after this next bull run, only .1 will be within reach of us normal income folks. [link] [comments]

Completely new to bitcoin - help? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 11:34 PM PDT Hello, Sorry to make this post since you guys probably get lots of people like me. But I'm trying to buy bitcoin as cheaply & anonymously as possible to spend online. I checked the sidebar & so far haven't found any method of buying bitcoin that works for me. Right now it seems like Paxful might be best, but it's Expensive with the service fees. Any advice or resources? Thanks so much [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Apr 2019 01:23 AM PDT 2012 Halving The 2012 block halving was the first halving. New BTC Per Block Before: 50 BTC per block 2016 Halving The 2016 was the second one ever. New BTC Per Block Before: 25 BTC per block 2020 Halving *speculation* New BTC Per Block Before: 12.5 BTC per block NOTE: this is not going to be 100% sure because the speculation is based on history events, it does not repeat itself but it rhymes. It's a interesting point of view. Have fun :) [link] [comments] |
