Just launched! omg.lol: get an awesome email address, accepts Bitcoin and LN!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 07:46 PM PDT

This is my first "serious" (as in I'm actually charging real money) business thing, and I'm excited to accept both on-chain Bitcoin payments as well as satoshis beamed across the Lightning Network! (And fiat, too, for the relentless HODLers out there.)

    Here it is: https://omg.lol

So, what is it? It's the email address of your choice on the omg.lol domain, forwarded to any other email address you'd like. Since it just launched, only a handful of names have been taken so it's pretty wide open right now.

    More info:

    • I take privacy extremely seriously. The site doesn't use cookies at all (which was hard to do but totally worth it), and email messages are not kept after they're forwarded on.
    • You can view the Postfix log file for any of your addresses, so you can see what was received and where it was forwarded.
    • You can change your forwarding address at any time.
    • It's a pretty basic thing overall, but I plan to add some extra bells and whistles down the road (at no additional cost).

That's pretty much it. My teenage kids have been making fun of me for building this ("who uses email anymore?") but for anyone who wants a short, fun, and memorable email address, there's now a Bitcoin-friendly option!

Looking for a AUD to bitcoin exchange website without ID verification?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 02:02 AM PDT

    Hello!

Please excuse this post if I'm on the wrong subreddit or violating any rules; although I don't think I am...i can't see any flairs & everyone is just uploading memes so I'm going to have some faith on this one:

I'm looking for a website to transfer AUD to bitcoin; without any ID verification. Preferably low fees. If anyone knows of any please let me know in the comments.

I've discovered Changelly, for example; you can transfer a minimum of $50USD without ID verification under a certain amount of money in order to exchange money to bitcoin, with a 1% fee, i think? it doesn't take long and gets sent directly to your bitcoin wallet from there.

People, it's time to HODL your own!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 01:35 PM PDT

It's time again to reiterate the importance of taking physical possession of all of your Bitcoin by controlling your own private keys ASAP. This goes for the smallest holders with mere dollars worth of bitcoin, all the way up to people with millions and more worth of bitcoin.

If we continue to leave our satoshis on these exchanges which are backed by the largest Banks that have obvious conflict of interest with respect to Bitcoin's success, then we will continue to allow those entities to dictate the price of Bitcoin in dollars.

They will do this through a variety of techniques they have been employing over the last couple of years. Specifically what they will continue to do is use over-the-counter markets (OTC) combined with cash-settled futures as well as rehypothecation tactics with the bitcoin currently stored on their exchanges to manipulate the price of our currency.

Remember it doesn't matter how much or little you have since cumulatively these Satoshis add up to billions of dollars worth of bitcoin that people simply leave on these exchanges that gives these exchanges control of the largest Bitcoin wallets in the world. While I do believe that over time we will be victorious, it will take the education of the masses of the basic truths that supply and demand determines value, that bitcoin is the first truly finite asset, what bitcoin is and how to take possession, coupled with the willingness to move their Bitcoin off these exchanges.

Critical mass will occur when the faithful dollar cost average folks that also hold their own keys outweigh the currently corned markets of the exchanges, is when we will have our peaceful revolution and let bitcoins true price discovery begin. Until then we will be at the mercy of the banks that currently control the bitcoin market.

    HODL your own!

Edited to appease paragraph addicts...and other minor spelling items.

Started accepting BTC for my hand dyed clothes and dead stickers

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 08:13 PM PDT

Hey guys I recently launched a shop where I sell hand dyed clothing and bootleg grateful dead memorabilia. I added coinbase commerce as part of the checkout, so hopefully that will be a cool option for those looking to exchange their btc directly for actual products.

Check it out at www.dreadconfusion.com and let me know if Coinbase Commerce is good/bad or if there are better alternatives for accepting bitcoin payments.
