    Posted: 05 Mar 2019 08:05 PM PST

Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

Swapping BTC and BCH instead of shorting.

I've noticed in Coinbase(I don't have a lot in and don't mind that they have the keys) you can swap crypto currencies without fees. So, I have started shifting crypto around with the ebb and flow of the market. I convert to BTC when the marked spikes, because the percent that it drops is much lower. On the dips I just lose a few percent. On the dips I switch to BCH because it swings farther, so I can gain 8 to 10 percent when it stabilizes. In the long run I am much less likely to short before a spike or buy before a dip. Is this a decent strategy?
