| XRP / ILP / Cobalt Timeline Checkpoints Opinions Posted: 19 Feb 2019 11:15 PM PST What are your personal expected milestones along RippleNet / XRPs journey to world domination? So far along, we've noticed each interval of 100 banks / FIs. The "tipping point" for partnerships may be 400, when everyone else decides it's time to join, or the network starts running with un-ignorable advantages for those using it. Today, 2/20/2019 Ripple has 200+ partners using RippleNet. ILP will be implemented in about a year. By 2/20/2020 I'll say. When that happens, all participating organizations will be able to transfer value instantly across all participating RTGS systems. Remittances are covered (dominated before the end of 2020 by RippleNet). By mid 2020 a majority of US securities will be tokenized. By the end of 2020 the tokenized securities will be traded using XRP or another advantageous digital asset such as stablecoins. When Cobalt is implemented, transaction times will shrink to 1 second and the reliability of the network (susceptibility to attacks) will be greatly improved. This may take place in 2023. I am unsure what steps need to be taken before Cobalt to ensure it succeeds. What is more clear is whatever digital asset succeeds on the global scale needs Cobalt to function. By my timeline, RippleNet will be owning remittances by 2021 and Cobalt will enable ubiquitous (tokenized) asset/security trading before the end of 2025. Once Cobalt is implemented, will there be any further pressure on the price of XRP, other than the sustained growth of the world economy?
