How to Buy Your Own Death Certificate in India

Businessman jailed for faking his own 'brain fever' death in India to pocket £1m life insurance to clear his family's mounting debts

Sanjay Kumar, 45, claimed he had died and had been cremated in Delhi, India

But Kumar was alive in India obtaining a fake death and cremation certificate

Kumar- born in India but a British citizen with dual nationality - flew to Delhi on business trip on 3 November, 2011.

He later emailed his wife Anju Kumar, 46, telling her he had fallen seriously ill and had been taken to hospital.

By 26 November, mother-of-three Mrs Kumar received an email, informing her that Sanjay had been killed by a 'brain fever' and cremated.

Has anyone actually seen the QuadrigaCX CEO's body?

PSA: Bitcoin is anarchic. It also doesn't require you to be an anarchist to use it.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 04:37 PM PST

Seen a lot of people talking about anarchy and Bitcoin, with a lot of misconception about both.

A lot of people seem to be worried about BCH being associated intimately with a political fringe ideology called anarcho-capitalism (aka voluntaryism, market anarchy, libertarian anarchy). I will simply call them anarchists here, but note I do not include black-flag anarchists or any other leftist variant of anarchy when I use the word 'anarchist' in this post. Many early adopters are, in fact, libertarians, and some of them are anarchists. That's fact. But, that doesn't mean that one must be an anarchist to be a valuable contributor to Bitcoin, and it certainly doesn't matter what political values you have as a user of Bitcoin.

What we need to be aware of in this community is the duality between driving philosophy and marketing. They are two different things, and we can say one thing to each other and a different thing to the world.

To us, Bitcoin is a means to freedom - a tool to remove the State from money. It is about individual empowerment. This is an anarchist goal. Yes, you don't have to be an anarchist to want the same goal, but it's one goal you share with anarchists. It is part of the broader anarchist aim of individual sovereignty and separation of governance from political institutions.

So be aware that if you're not an anarchist, you still want us around, because we're the zealots that will keep Bitcoin on course. We care about that mission that inspired Satoshi more than a decade ago. Without that core philosophy, what makes Bitcoin special will disappear, and then you just have another ICO. That's what IMO Bitcoin Core (BTC) has turned into, because they have pushed out most of the core philosophy when they waged war on their own community. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) should not make that same error.

On the flip side, while in our own community we can acknowledge these greater ideas, when advertising Bitcoin to the world we should focus on an apolitical message. The goal of Bitcoin is to empower individuals, and we should share with potential users the many ways in which Bitcoin does that. Talk about low fees, being able to send money to anyone without middlemen, international payments, smart contracts, etc. Don't worry about the politics. That's history, and it's there for the geeks who want to delve deep into how this amazing invention came about. 99% of people don't care, and they will never care. Don't shove it in their faces.

When engaging the public, think like a businessman, not a preacher. Sell them a product, not a life philosophy.

But don't hate on the community for having that philosophy, too.

(P.S. If you are curious about anarcho-capitalism and the rich history of libertarian philosophy, please stop by /r/goldandblack. Don't hesitate to ask questions. NOTE: we also have a strict no-trolling policy, so don't bother if you're just trying to stir up trouble.)

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 03:05 PM PST

Honestly, I don't think it's an another social attack.

I think it's a nice thing to have people freely discussing their political views even it this is sometimes controversial.

Political discussion is part of us growing to be a mature community. I bet we all agree that there is a place here for variety of views. I'm not getting a bad vibe from this discussions.

    We are working stuff out.

So how are all the pro BCH businesses and enterprises doing? Bitmain, bitpay, bitcoin.com, purse.io, etc etc. If they can survive the crypto winter without going bankrupt, while lots of companies that support other coins can not. Well then BCH will keep getting in a better position.

Plans for bigger OP_RETURN in BCH

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 10:33 PM PST

I was wondering what is the position of Bitcoin ABC about bigger OP_RETURN. Is there a plan to increase it in the next hardfork? If so, to how much.

Also, what is miner's position? Are there any BCH miners supporting bigger OP_RETURN? I am not talking about 65k or something. Talking about 1-2k

How I Lost My Home in An Earthquake And All My Life-savings on a Cryptocurrency Exchange Called Bittrex Due To U.S. Sanctioning Normal Iranian Citizens

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 05:51 AM PST

TL;DR: I lost my house in an earthquake and also all my crypto on an exchange because U.S. government sanctioned normal Iranian citizens like me and now I'm homeless.

You can read the full story here on my blog:

LINK TO FULL STORY ON MY MEDIUM BLOG

For those who might say you shouldn't have held your Bitcoin on an American exchange: we couldn't buy hardware wallets back then because Iran was and still is sanctioned. Online wallets were mostly following U.S. laws too. We contacted Bittrex (evidence is posted in my blog post) a few times and they said they have no problem with Iranians using their exchange and they didn't have any lines prohibiting Iranians from using their exchange in their TOS. So Bittrex appeared to be the safest option for us since it was reputable back in 2017, but alas!

Why is transaction locktime a height from genesis instead of a block hash?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 02:57 PM PST

Transactions have a locktime value, which specifies the minimum height it can be mined (starting at genesis, which is height #0). Most client's don't use this, simply specifying height #0, as the locktime doesn't find many uses except for niche applications such as the HTLC.

If transactions specified which block it's confirming block must be a descendant block as a block hash instead of an absolute block height, wouldn't that deter forking attacks? Example: If a client knows block 0xdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeef is not an orphan and has 3 blocks on top of it, it could specify that hash as the lock time, and other false chains before that block cannot contain the transaction as part of a forking attack. Block 0xf7eef00df7eef00df7eef00df7eef00df7eef00df7eef00df7eef00df7eef00d that is parallel to or before 0xdeadbeef would not be allowed to include the transaction, and clients would simply reject blocks that do. If most transactions use canonical block hashes, then full nodes are incentivized to accept the chain with the most activity rather than the false chain, as the false chain cannot contain any transactions that contain a block hash that points to a block parallel to, or before the reference block. The closer the referenced block hash is to the most recent canonical block, the more secure, but orphans do exist, so there is a certain "safe" value. On top of the block hash, a relative height can be added, so that the block must be considered final before the transaction is added.

Exchanges could use this and have clients specify a certain block hash to make it harder for attackers to double spend.
