Posted: 14 Dec 2018 08:03 AM PST Currently, at least according to this visualisation The network currently has 67 nodes and a capacity of $664.64. Bitcoin is currently 12700 nodes and $1.5M. The Litecoin network seems pretty small. Is that a problem at all? Question. If I create a Zap Wallet with an LTC lightning channel between myself and a node (Coingate, for example) and add $100 will my channel show up in this graph and total capacity? Is anyone tracking growth of the network? For actual merchant adoption I guess it doesn't matter right? If Coingate is both the only exchange with Lightning withdrawal and also the only Lightning merchant processor then if I have a channel open with Coingate I can automatically pay all of those merchants. Posted: 13 Dec 2018 04:52 PM PST What kind of wallet/storage would you use? Where should I buy in? Any other tips? I'm just slowly watching the price drop and my mouth is beginning to water. I'd love to buy in now, but I don't really know what I'm doing, any tips would be appreciated! [link] [comments] | ||
Bitcoin vs Litecoin - Tech question Posted: 13 Dec 2018 12:25 PM PST Hi, I have been thinking about a question for a while about Litecoin and the need of it. I am a fan of both Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC), and I hold both of them. This question is about the technology and not how it's marketed etc. Since Lightning Network will work on both Bitcoin and Litecoin, and the fee will be close to zero and transactions being almost instant, what will be the benefit of using Litecoin? Is it the fact it can implement new tech faster, or is it something else I am missing? I know Litecoin will be faster onchain, but once you have moved your coins to LN you won't have to use main chain again, right? [link] [comments] |
