Interesting AMD Move. Unlock Memory timings via Driver. Posted: 14 Dec 2018 04:19 AM PST AMD has released there new "Adrenilan" driver. this includes some neat features such as Auto underclocking/voltage and the most interesting feature, Memory timings control. I have many questions on that but according to gamersnexus(link below) this allows you to soft-mod rather than BIOs mod memory timings. I wonder if this works on Vega with HBM? If so we could see hashrate increases in XMR/ETH. Additionally no more pesky BIO flashes to RX 500 series cards! https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/radeon-adrenalin-2019-edition-driver-overview,1.html Gamers nexus https://youtu.be/FuXEhtRBuZE?t=155 [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Dec 2018 09:24 AM PST As explained about, have about $1000/$1500 in the budget. Have free power. Also would like to find software that would allow me to mine the 20 or so new coins that coinbase "may support." Assuming my mini-rig here could jump onto mining different coin(s) dependent on price changes. Is this something that can be done on < 60-second intervals? Jumping between mining coins, all on one machine? Is that even possible yet? Maybe some enterprising student has something on GitHub? This is more of a "learning experience" for me, don't really expect to make cash, just want to understand more about "the future." :-) [link] [comments]
Poll: Do you (or did you) undervolt your cards? Posted: 13 Dec 2018 08:34 AM PST I'm trying to gauge how many miners undervolt their cards. Some say they don't bother but I see about 30% power reduction on 1070 rigs when mining ETH. [link] [comments]
I want to run "Hello World" of crypto mining Posted: 13 Dec 2018 06:18 PM PST I am not interested in trying to make money. I know mining is not profitable. I also have an old PC, so it's just for knowledge. I am not buying any new hardware for this tutorial. All you hear is "miners solve cryptography problems" Well, who creates these problems? And what program tries to solve these encryptions? I want to set up a "Hello World" and let me PC run for an hour and see what happens. I am mostly interested in the setup, to see how miners set up a shop. Can you point me to a tutorial? How long would I have to spend to get up and running? [link] [comments] |
