Satellite named "EtherX" as an ode to Ethereum to be launched on SpaceX Falcon 9 in Winter 2019 Posted: 11 Dec 2018 08:04 AM PST Hey everyone, we just put out a news release regarding our first satellite launch. I would like to share it with you. It's amazing what Ethereum has pulled off as a community. It's truly special and the collection of people (cryptographers, artists, dreamers and creators). As an ode to what the community has built, I wanted to make sure we named the first satellite that XYO launches after Ethereum! I'm heading to ETHDenver with my team this year and look forward to catching up with everyone I met from last year! From the press release, here's the part I'm most proud of!
Here's the link to the press release. [link] [comments]

Ethereum address with most leading zeroes - Record is 11 zeroes Posted: 11 Dec 2018 02:40 PM PST Currently 0x0000000000015B23C7e20b0eA5eBd84c39dCbE60 holds the record for smallest account address used to send a transaction. https://etherscan.io/address/0x0000000000015B23C7e20b0eA5eBd84c39dCbE60 And one of the transactions goes to another account with a suspicious number of leading zeroes. Now that's some PoW! [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Dec 2018 03:59 PM PST Metamask just released a rather significant update. New features that a casual user would expect such as the ability to cancel an order and being able to set gas limits for a transaction. This is a tool that's truly going to be a front runner in helping the adoption rate of crypto and Web 3.0 system mechanics. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Dec 2018 06:41 PM PST Thank you to the authors of this ETH2.0 economics piece. Great job. https://github.com/ethhub-io/ethhub/blob/master/ethereum-101/monetary-policy/eth-2.0-economics.md Can someone help me understand the inputs for the Blocks/Epoch calculation? I am unsure where the numerator and denominator come from. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Announcing the Launch of Wanchain 3.0 – Cross-Chain Bitcoin, Ethereum, and ERC20s Posted: 11 Dec 2018 12:11 PM PST Ethereum Reddit Community – Oliver here. I am very happy to let you all know that today we launched Wanchain 3.0. This is our bridge to Bitcoin and ERC20s, similar to our 2.0 launch for Ethereum interoperability. Any Ethereum-based project can now reach Bitcoin users via Wanchain's cross-chain mechanism. Read more at the Medium link about this release, use cases enabled, and what's next. Thanks! Low peer count on google cloud instance. Posted: 11 Dec 2018 08:10 PM PST I have been trying to find the root cause of my low peer count on my google cloud compute vm running geth. Ive verified firewall rules (30301-30304upd/tcp) inbound and out. Ive added the --maxpeers value, and tried different values for the --nat value. Ive also manually added peers through the console but for the life of me I cant figure out why the peer count NEVER goes above 9 peers. Can someone please shed some light on what I could be missing?
