Posted: 22 Dec 2018 01:52 AM PST I'm seriously thinking of buying 32 ETH at the current price to become a staker in the near future. One thing I wonder is if a guy without programming skills will be able to manage a node without risking to lose his stake: my plan is simply to buy an acceptable hardware and to start staking leaving the pc alone while I am working. Could the computer do something wrong that could result in losing part of my stake even if I don't have any malicious intent? Do you know the hardware specs for running a small node? I don't think a raspberry will be enough but I didn't find any information about this. [link] [comments]

[PoS Question] Will I be able to set up redundant validator nodes without risking being slashed? Posted: 22 Dec 2018 06:58 AM PST Title pretty much, inspired by another post on staking at home. Will there be an easy way to keep a backup node in case for example my power goes out? My concern is that running two separate nodes, the backup could lose the connection to the main one (believing it's down) and end up violating a slashing condition. Perhaps it could even end up on a minority fork because of some kind of network partition. Has this kind of thing been discussed among the PoS devs? [link] [comments]

Recovering (hive?) eth wallet that used a 12 word phrase Posted: 22 Dec 2018 03:24 PM PST I used to use a web-based wallet where one entered a 12 word phrase every time you visited the site to unlock it. . The wallet contained ETH, and in my notes where I wrote the 12 words (which I have) I wrote "hive" next to it. I was using it up until about a year ago. Google searches turned up a defunct Hive Wallet, but it was only for BTC and LTC as far as I can tell. Does anybody know of an Eth wallet that is web based and was unlocked via a 12 word phrase, and if so, how I would access it today using either web pages, some local software, or a trezor (which I also have)? I also have the RX address related to the wallet FWIW, although I don't think that helps anything, unless RX addresses somehow indicate how/where they were created. If I am able to recover the wallet I'll send 0.1 ETC to the first poster who helps me figure this all out. [link] [comments]

Optimizing Opportunities for Cloud Design Creators Posted: 21 Dec 2018 09:05 PM PST Reindeer is an unconventional cloud design ecosystem that operates on the Ethereum blockchain. The existing cloud computing domain functions with a monopolized approach that leads to inefficiencies such as security issues, lack of reliability, transparency, high downtime, etc. Reindeer works with a decentralized approach that envisions to eliminate such inefficiencies and make cloud computing more effective and accessible to the masses.
