Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

Crypto market cap at 101 B$

    Posted: 14 Dec 2018 01:04 PM PST

One little move and we will be in double digits market cap.

Assuming stock market dump will continue, it is just a matter of time-very short time in my view. So the crypto is worth as much as one large cap company. Does it have more use than one company? Does it have room to grow?

I am confident the bubble is elsewhere and not crypto.

Hedging for hodlers: How to hedge against falling BTC price instead of selling?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2018 03:16 AM PST

I have sold BTC during the current downturn and plan to buy back more when the price trend will clearly turn bullish again.
The other day I thought if it wouldn't be better and in the hodling spirit to keep BTC and use hedging possibilities instead. In this case I am not selling my own BTC and thus not contributing to the selling pressure. Still I keep the value of my BTC locked in and might still be able to buy some more BTC with the earnings from hedging when the bearish trend ends.

    Do you agree?
What hedging possibilities do you recommend?

When the entire crypto market reaches a 2-5 trillion valuation, what is going to happen to the world economy when the crypto market corrects down 85%?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2018 07:08 PM PST

5 trillion dollar valuation is next boom cycle.

And what happens when it hits 10 trillion?

    I see 4 outcomes:

    1) the crypto market corrects from 10 trillion to 1 trillion and the global economy doesnt bat an eye (yea right)

    2) it corrects and takes a chunk of the rest of paper economy with it

    3) it reaches a 10 trillion dollar market cap and never corrects

    4) it never reaches a 10 trillion dollar market cap

Something huge is about to go down in the next 5 years. We dont have a lot of time to get our affairs in order.
