Would you be interested in an mobile app where you can see where you can pay with crypto? Posted: 19 Dec 2018 11:11 PM PST Hey guys, like the titles says, I am curious if you would be interested in an iOS/android app where you can see where you can pay with crypto? It would be a community based app, so the users have to post the location and accepted crypto currency. But without login/registration. I will have a look, if there is already a database for this kind of data, so I can start with that. Otherwise we would start from scratch. What do you guys think? [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Dec 2018 09:38 PM PST Basically just trying to throw this out there with what I see on the subreddit. There have always been complaints about the "quality" of the news sources that we are reading. However, I'm pretty sure just by examining the accounts that are posting these news articles, you'll not only see them starving to push out sensationalist / B.S. "news" with regards to a particular coin, but the accounts that are posting these news sources are clearly in violation of the rules of reddit (which clearly state that posts must be made with a 9 to 1 post ratio with regards to comments and posts for the former number (9), and self promotion for the latter number (1)). Now in many cases there are no ways to tie the O.P. to the website, but there are often clearly identifiable motivating factors that would make one think the O.P. is intentionally posting on reddit to do nothing more than drive clicks to the news source. That is all. Have a good day. EDIT: I would make a list of all accounts in violation of this rule if I could, but I do believe this would break the rules of this subreddit as well. Cryptocurrency soars as NASDAQ enters bear territory. Posted: 20 Dec 2018 12:58 AM PST So the Fed raised interest rates again today and stocks have been been selling of as investors lose confidence in the market, many astute investors speculate that the run up since the aftermath of the GFC has been fueled by quantitative easing and low interest rates. The fed also indicate they plan to continue hiking rates at least twice over 2019. How will Bitcoin fare in this evolving financial landscape? Most people seem to have the opinion that small volatile markets sell of first in times like this but the indication from today says otherwise. Will bitcoin limited supply aspect make it lucrative over the coming years. Will crypos evolving unique and new business models hold value when a recession inevitably hits within the next 5 years, maybe this is where it finds some market dominance as old business models begin to fall apart in a new landscape? People seem to argue that everything about Crypto makes it a terrible asset to hold in a recession, but theres many unique aspects to explore on this argument. Lets talk :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Dec 2018 02:55 PM PST So I got a message from someone almost instantly offering to buy my car. A quick search of the email text lead to finding the same script being sent to someone else 4 years ago exposing the scam. I then researched how this scam works, and apparently they send you a fraudulent cashiers check, or certified bank check, so your bank will clear it quickly. Then weeks later when the bank that was forged finds out, they deny paying your bank resulting in your bank asking for the money THEY CLEARED back from you. Basically the double spending problem they created for not being competent enough to verify something before it's given to you, resulting in you being in legal trouble, or losing the money if you have it yourself, and whatever you thought you had sold for their fuck up. Makes me really only trust crypto now in trying to sell my car, at least that way if the money is sent in crypto, there is no way they can pull a double spend scam making sure I'm safe and not owing anyone for their fuck up in not verifying the funds before clearing them to me. Post to the scam details if you want to read it: https://old.reddit.com/r/craigslist/comments/a7rheo/scammer_caught_early_saving_me_from_a_huge_scam/ [link] [comments]
Shopify Integrates with Coinbase to Easily Set Up Cryptocurrency Payments. Posted: 19 Dec 2018 01:29 PM PST This may be old news but for anyone who owns or operates a Shopify store, there is a super easy to use Coinbase plugin that allows you to accept crypto. Found this out last night and was able to set it up on my store in about 10 minutes. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Dec 2018 11:22 AM PST Wash sale rules don't apply to cryptocurrency as of now. If you took huge losses this year, you should sell out of all of your positions right now, then immediately buy back in. This way you harvest that loss and can save a tonnnn of money on your tax bill (in the US). I am not promoting any product by doing this. I just want to let people know... especially those who have huge losses. [link] [comments]
