Everyone is screamig 1k 2k btc price, doesnt this sound the same when everyone was screaming above 20k during ath?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2018 05:06 AM PST

I dont know man but this shit looks the same to me but the other way around, during 20k everyone was shouting we are going to break 20k suddenly it all crashed, people are waiting for the perfect entry now and lot of greed going on, all comments that say 1 or 2k get massively upvoted and those who make bullish posts get downvoted, pretty much the same as ath sentiments.

Let's say bitcoin bear market bottoms in few months and crypto charts become boring in 2019. What are the chances that some alt will go parabolic in 2019, like ETH did in june 2017 and drag the market up?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2018 01:29 AM PST

Hi guys, In all crypto discussions people are concentrating on Bitcoin and institutional investors or Bakkt Starbucks bitcoin adoption to be catalyst for next bull run (or beginning of the bull run). But what are the chances that some alt gets insane partnerships or gets regulated and gets actual use case and go parabolic? Here are some examples what can happen:

    1. Ripple gets adopted by gazillion banks and they all start using it for every day cross border transactions.

    2. tZero or some other security tokens platform gets regulated and tons of companies start using it and underlying token goes parabolic (Raven, FLO, Polymath, Own, CHX, Smartlands or something like that).

    3. Chainlink or Quant get used by some large companies that want to connect their business and blockchain.

    4. IOTA gets used by lots of car manufacturers.

    5. VeChain or WTC get deals with huge Chinese manufacturers and get adopted.

    6. GVT signs forex and stocks platforms and tons of people start using their trading platform because crypto market goes sideways but GVT managers make much more money.

    7. Stellar or Nano gets adopted as payment for unbanked.

    8. Amazon starts accepting Stellar or Nano based stablecoin.

    9. Some other adoption example.

Rant: Stop making sweeping statements to support your bull/bear predictions

    Posted: 15 Dec 2018 03:50 PM PST

You don't know what's going to happen. Stop citing complex topics with a single sentence as a way to support your criticisms or support for bearish or bullish posts. It's arguably the reason why this subreddit has become the bottom of the crypto discussion barrel.

Understanding IOTA's underlying tech with a visualizer

    Posted: 15 Dec 2018 11:43 AM PST

Many of you will know IOTA is based on a directed acyclic graph (DAG) instead of a blockchain.

But to really understand this approach, and the difference with blockchain it can be very clarifying to visit a tangle visualizer such as:

    http://tangle.glumb.de

    Example of a 15 min visualization: https://imgur.com/a/rPguXgo

    It's really fun to watch.

If you're a bit into math you can understand how this model can scale more easily than a blockchain. A blockchain needs bigger blocks or faster processing. The DAG will become wider and will go forward faster (until you reach the bandwidth limits of nodes, after that clustering comes in play).
