Looking for theory on taking profit Posted: 10 Dec 2018 03:09 PM PST There's a million resources for TA on how to read charts, but I never see resources about how to take profits. Sure, with crypto there's a ton more variance in the potential of a coin compared to traditional assets - gold can go up 30%, a coin can go up 1000x in a couple of years! But there must be some formal strategies and guidelines on a generic approach on how to take profits. For example, one could sell 1/10 at +10%, 1/10 at +30%, and so on until he has cashed out 1x while also having 1x of the coin. Maybe something dynamic, based on our evaluation of coin potential for x times gain, maybe something static based on worst-case-scenario safety guidelines.
