Posted: 01 Dec 2018 09:06 PM PST I want to say thank you to the BTC crowd for teaching me the value of TA. Perhaps in a few years I'll even leverage it. However, I don't have time or interest now. I don't personally hold enough coins to make day-trading viable. I hold a lot, but I can still make a better, more consistent cash, by doing my day job, which is software engineering. I hold bitcoin because I believe in the long-term value. I plan to hold it for 2 years or more, likely 5. BCH has strong hands. We'll have to see what happens over the next 2 to 5 years before any BCHer will capitulate. What sort of person holds BTC today? Did you know that every LN transaction changes the network topology. Are you aware that the LN spec still hasn't moved past *source routing*? The market's mood today has very little bearing on BTCs value in 5 years. The underlying technical details of and the community around a coin are what gives it real value. It's real value is what will matter in 5 years. If you are playing the "BTC game" and don't know that every LN transaction changes the network topology and the spec is still just source routing, or you don't know what those sentences mean, then I simply hope that you understand the limits of TA and that real value is a thing. Did anyone else notice BCH has finally decoupled BTC + all other tokens Posted: 01 Dec 2018 08:27 PM PST I'm hopeful that this means we've finally lost enough of the The crowd of libertarians and philosophers that were shilling BTC in 2916 has been replaced by poker players and technical analysts. I don't have a person problem with gambling, and I'm glad to have learned a bit about TA from the BTC crowd, but I didn't get into BTC to get rich quick or because I wanted to gamble. If I want to gamble, I'll go to a casino, if I want to change the world with code, I'll hodl BCH, thanks. The ICO space attracted a particularly low-class crowd. BTC value is built on circular logic, i.e. that BTC is king because BTC is king. There's no there there. There's no fundamental value. The only way BTC can get past $20k is by scaling. The only way BTC can scale is by revolt against Blockstream. The only way BTC will have a revolution is when they finally lose the #1 spot. As far as I can see, BTC is nothing but a coin for poker players to gamble with, it literally cannot move past that because at its current use alone, which supports nothing but exchanges, is smashing against it's ceiling. https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,4d BCH on the other hand, looks like pure upside. So, if you're a gambler, and you think the "Bitcoin" brand can continue to bring in more dupes and you want to watch Tone Vays videos every day and try to stay ahead of the curve in a win-lose game, then go buy some BTC. But don't be surprised if you get fleeced by people who understand and control the crowd better than you do. If you want to join the community led by engineer and scientists at BU and ABC who have agreed to scale onchain at a reasonable pace. Aside: To the BSV shills who will come here to sow more confusion: Please shut the fuck up. 32MB is sufficient and beyond that TODAY is unnecessary and dangerous. If you don't have better research than BU, you are either naive or duplicitous, so please just shove it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Dec 2018 12:49 PM PST I had the idea for some time to have a landing page of 'what is bitcoin' explained to different people, with different levels of ease and detail. After reading this post from u/CatatonicAdenosine "This is exactly what we have to do. Make it simple and fun to get what the bitcoin movement is about". So I looked for the url, it was available, and got it. I have some ideas, want to make it fun, laid back and serious. I'll create a github, and will be open for suggestions. [link] [comments]

Money Laundering started with banks not bitcoins. Posted: 01 Dec 2018 04:30 AM PST The people in Banking industry have long associated Bitcoins with money laundering, from calling it a bubble to linking it to terrorists money they did everything in their power to destroy bitcoins. Today it's been proved that money laundering happens due to banks, was happening before bitcoins came. Deutsche Bank has been raided for money laundering, and it's pertinent to note bankers from this bank had said bitcoins is used for money laundering. It proves that fiat money is and always will be used for money laundering, it's time to stop the witch hunt against bitcoins. #ItrustBitcoinsoverBank. Yes money laundry started with the banks and will ever be in the banking sector. Moreso, bitcoin just came in compared to ages that the banks have been into existence and have been in this laundry of a thing. I can say categorically that money laundering is only done in the banks and not in cryptocurrency. #istandwithcryptocurrency. [link] [comments] |
