This is Ross Ulbricht's 6th Christmas in prison. A powerful message was posted on his Twitter today. Posted: 20 Dec 2018 10:11 AM PST Here's a message posted on Ross Ulbricht's Twitter today: "Each morning I wake up in this tiny cell, I dread facing another day. Gratitude is the antidote I use, giving thanks just to be alive, to be healthy, to have so many wonderful people in my life. "Thank you" is my mantra all day. It turns dread into joy even here." If you haven't done so, you can sign his petition for clemency here. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Dec 2018 02:43 AM PST Just some thoughts. I've started as most of the people; I invested in BTC, with the thought in my mind that it'd be a reasonable investment, and one day I'd become rich. As I've bought some crypto, I've learned all the spheres where we can use this technology. I'd love to buy some things with BTC like food, services and so on. But there aren't enough places to use Bitcoin as digital cash. Also, I enjoy when some small businesses accept BTC. I know that for them accepting cryptocurrency even more profitable because they don't have to pay taxes. And it's great! We can not only check CMC and coin360 every second to know the price and to trade the assets at the right time. Bitcoin was created as money, and we should USE it. I don't mind hodling, but it's more reasonable to hold half of BTC and to spend some BTC for shopping. How do you prefer using BTC? Are there any places in your city where you can pay by BTC? What if BTC became the new gold Posted: 21 Dec 2018 02:09 AM PST Imagine a future where btc replaced gold as the default store of value. The amount of gold ever mined in the world is about 187,000 metric tons. Divide that by the amount of bitcoin tyete will ever be and you get 187mil / 21mil = 8.9, so that would mean that owning one bitcoin would be as scarce as owning 8.9 kilos of gold. Not necessarily a valid basis for predicting price but an interesting metric in regards to scarcity. [link] [comments]
