Peepeth is hosting a 10-day builder’s retreat in Bali, Feb 19-28 (right after ETHDenver) ❄ =>

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 06:37 AM PST

    Hey everyone,

I'm hosting #buidl_bali, a small (~18 person) working retreat this February in Bali for builders in blockchain (esp ETH community members). It's a rare opportunity to:

    • Make meaningful connections
    • Get things done in style
    • Have fun!

Dates: Feb 19 - Feb 28 (after ETHDenver)

    More info: https://peepeth.com/a/retreat

We're renting a villa in the countryside. Days are free to work, but there'll be optional activities like surfing, sunrise volcano hiking, and hot springs. We'll meet up at night and have dinner as a group.

Deep connections matter. It's one thing to meet people at a conference or over coffee, and another to live with like-minded builders from around the world for 10 days while sharing meals and adventures. It'll be a unique experience that's likely to spawn life-long friendships, projects, and businesses.

A great group of ETH community members is already coming together. There are still some spots left. Apply before December 2nd for early-bird pricing.

Full disclosure: this is not only a chance to bring people together in a fun and meaningful way, it's also a potential revenue source for Peepeth. Recurring retreats could help support development.

    Apply here: https://peepeth.com/a/retreat

Hope to see you in Bali!

    Bevan (Peepeth founder)

A strategy game that fully runs on ethereum smart contracts

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 07:06 PM PST

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a strategy game that fully runs on smart contracts called CryptoWars.

Just announced a tournament for $2,500 - free sign up.

This is CryptoWars' github, in case you're curious. Using Loom to not kill the network as it happened with CryptoKitties.

    Thoughts?

Giveth is launching another big experiment in decentralizing its governance: the Unicorn DAC. We will be funding initiatives in a non-hierarchical way while dogfooding the process through our own DApp.

    Ethershift - about website

    Ethershift - about website

The websites has an administration panel allowing some visibility into what's going on in the Ethershift backend server. For example, it can use GetHotWalletBalances() to show the current hot wallet balances, and other APIs will be added to view the transaction history, etc. The administration panel is a read-only view of what's happening on the back end, and will not be able to manipulate the back-end. How to get involved in Blockchain

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 04:03 PM PST

Hello, I would like to get involved in blockchain or crypto somehow. I'm not a blockchain engineer and am not a coder or developer. Are there other opportunities to be involved that are not development related?

    ERC20 addresses and privacy

    Posted: 30 Nov 2018 09:31 AM PST

To access etherium you log into one derived address from the private key. The following two aspects regarding privacy and public tracability:

    • If one of the public addresses is linked to your persona, are the subsequent derived addresses also linked to you?
    • When you log into different sites (MEW or similar) using a hardware dongle, it will list many more addresses. Is this a privacy risk as the homepage could derive also the next 100 addresses (even with different derivation paths) in the background and link them together to one person (for future references)?
