Olivier Janssens on Twitter - If you want to know where I stand on the Bitcoin Cash fork: I agree to not support SV and/or anything that gives charlatan Craig Wright power, so I’m happy with @BitcoinCom and @coinbase’s decision to support ABC. Hoping the hashpower will reflect that!

Electron Cash coin splitting tool (for Nov 2018 hardfork) released!

    Posted: 05 Nov 2018 08:17 PM PST

Together with Mengerian and Jonald Fyookball, I've coded up and released an Electron Cash coin splitting tool for the November 15, 2018 chain splits: https://github.com/markblundeberg/coinsplitter_checkdatasig/releases/tag/3.3.1CS

Along with the tool is a user guide explaining how it can be used to safely split coins .

The purpose of this tool is to give users more control over their coins if it turns out that the BCH network splits into two chains (or more) on November 15th. It allows people to give their coins "replay protection", by making it possible to spend coins using a script which is valid only on a chain following the upgraded Bitcoin Cash ruleset that includes OP_CHECKDATASIGVERIFY. The tool also allows the user to later move the coins on the Bitcoin SV chain using a separate script that will be valid on both chains. This allows users and exchanges to protect themselves from replay attacks.

More information about Electron Cash ecosystem can be found in an announcement made by Jonald, today: https://electroncash.org/nov2018.html

    ...

Added offer! On fork day, I am planning to personally create some more experimental transactions that are only compatible with bitcoin SV. This (together with the tool) allows a full two-way split where neither side's transactions can be replayed on the other. If you are interested in receiving SV-only coins, please send a tiny nominal amount (the network minimum is 546 satoshis) to my address bitcoincash:qrsplterpal0qx0ncerywfq2m7rjmyle3vzcektucc before fork day. Then, I will try to arrange for an SV-only coin to be sent back to the first input address, as soon as possible after the fork activates. You can then mix the received SV-only coin with your other coins, and thus start making transactions on SV that definitely cannot be replayed elsewhere.

We have just surpassed /r/bitcoin in terms of attention again. Everybody wants to know about the epic hashwar on Bitcoin Cash, the prince of Crypto ... one day to become King!

How do you know if a coin is truly decentralised?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2018 06:08 PM PST

hash already moving over from BTC to BCH. The hash war will fail.

Don't underestimate Craig. But I think Craig underestimates this community and how strong we are. Price will keep pumping. Confidence will return. And saboteurs will lose.

memo.cash will adopt the anti-split plan to protect users and allow the app to function no matter which chain wins the hash battle

    Posted: 05 Nov 2018 06:30 PM PST

Craig's Razor: Craig Wright is issuing insane threats that he will attack exchanges in order to sabotage the BCH price. With lower price, difficulty goes down. As a consequence, his minority hashpower stands a chance to control BCH. He's insidious.

Bitcoin Unlimited - Bitcoin Cash edition 1.5.0.1 has just been released

    Posted: 06 Nov 2018 02:12 AM PST

Download the latest Bitcoin Cash compatible release of Bitcoin Unlimited (1.5.0.1, November 5th, 2018) from:

    https://www.bitcoinunlimited.info/download

This release is a major release which is compatible with the Bitcoin Cash compatible with the Bitcoin Cash specifications you could find here:

This release will also implement a set of consensus changes proposed by an alternative implementation, Bitcoin SV, see SV release notes for ver 0.1.0 for more details. Such set of features is disabled by default, the default policy is to activate the set of changes as defined by the bitcoincash.org specification.

To configure your BUcash client so that it will activate the protocol upgrade proposed by SV you need to add consensus.forkNov2018Time=0 and consensus.svForkNov2018Time=1 in your bitcoin.conf file. Trying to activate both protocol upgrades at the same time will lead to the client to exit with this error message: Both the SV and ABC forks are enabled. You must choose one.

List of notable changes and fixes to the code base:

    • Implementation of Bitcoin SV November 2018 features (see the SV upgrade specifications), disable by default
      • OP_MUL, OP_INVERT, OP_LSHIFT, OP_RSHIFT
      • Increase max number of op_codes per script to 500
      • Increase max block size to 128MB
    • Turn graphene on by default

    Release notes: https://github.com/BitcoinUnlimited/BitcoinUnlimited/blob/dev/doc/release-notes/release-notes-bucash1.5.0.1.md

    PS:

    • Ubuntu PPA repository for BUcash 1.5.0.1 will be updated later today.
    • BUCash 1.5.0.1 MacOS binaries are temporarily unavailable, we will fix the problem later today

Then we have this stuff going on in in Bitcoin Cash, where they're just screwing around with the protocol, and one thing that shocked me is how it is apparently necessary to have this hash war, just to convince people that it's bad to screw around with the protocol.

Calling out the troll campaign that is either from CW or the BCore Dragon's Den. They are pretty easy to spot by looking at their comment history.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2018 12:14 PM PST

Most of the accounts are less than 1 year old. Many have karma that is way too high for a normal account of that age. At the same time of having high karma they also get heavily downvoted on here everytime they say something crazy and anti-BCH that promotes CW.

They frequently post CW's twitter posts right after they occur. It's essentially a group promoting CW in order to divide and harm BCH. I do believe there is a strong chance that the origin is r/bitcoin because those trolls seem silent at a time when BCH just gained 30% market share while BTC is flat. It's too obvious that they are absent and pro-CW trolls are out in force.

For the past few days I had some solid time to look into this and call out those users. Here is the list that will be updated and modified as their paid troll campaign continues.

More to come unless their funding runs out before then.

Update: These users have supposedly contacted Reddit to try and get my account shut down because I unveiled their troll group. They've been responding with notes like, "Enjoy your suspension". Yada yada. u/newtobch, specifically.**

Reddit really needs to shut down these troll farms for good.

Update: I also think there is a market for reddit accounts with high karma in r/btc and I think troll farms are buying these accounts to troll without being throttled. At least one new redditor here that was posting frequently said that he was just posting frequently for the karma.

    Why SV Will Be Crushed

    Posted: 05 Nov 2018 05:24 PM PST

    1. Bitmain has warehouses full of 42TH/s S 11 miners that are ready to go
    2. Bitmain has over 1 million BCH coins ready to split and dump
    3. Bitmain has significant pre-existing hashpower on BTC ready to switch to BCH at any moment
    4. The hash vacuum will suck in additional hash power for ABC
    5. Craig Wright will destroy any cooperative relationship he has as he reliably creates enemies at every turn
    6. Aside from the sockpuppets and paid shills, everyone in the BCH space supports ABC / BU clients
