    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 09:05 PM PDT

Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

Evidence that Bitcoin ETF May be approved soon

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 01:56 PM PDT

Over the past several months, the premium of GBTC over the actual Bitcoin price has been decreasing. At the end of August, the premium was over 30%. At the end of December, the premium for GBTC was down to roughly 20%. Today, the premium is only around 6%. If some people know that an ETF is going to be approved soon, so they want to sell it while the premium is high and then buy the ETF, which should have little to no premium. Alternatively, it could be that some of the institutions had been buying GBTC to get crypto exposure, but now that they can use Bakkt to hold their coins, they don't need to use GBTC and pay the premium. I know this is not definitive proof, but it could be an indication if people are insider trading.
