Posted: 03 Oct 2018 01:04 PM PDT I wanted to make a post here to discuss what is going on in San Francisco. We started planning SF Blockchain Week and had two goals in mind: 1) Get the best speakers and content possible and 2) Get as many individuals from the community to join this event and focus on the tech rather than hype and speculation. The support has been amazing. We are very proud of the speakers and workshops that will be present at this event. We had no idea that this wouldn't be the important part.
What we didn't realize would happen is the movement that this has started. There are over 75 satellite events that are taking place around the main events we planned and all of their tickets are FREE. There are several other conferences taking place around this time and they have all reduced their prices. By pricing our tickets extremely low (less than cost of food provided) and giving hundreds away to developers who apply, we have forced other events to stop being extractive and compete on both quality of content and ticket value. It really is amazing and I personally think it is a step in the right direction. In order to push this space forward we need to engage and educate as many people as possible. No more absurd ticket prices and cash grabs; we as a community should no longer accept that. We hope that you can attend and would love for you to help #ChangeTheNarrative!
tl;dr Let's stop charging the community so much to learn about blockchain. I see so much focus on institutions and regulation but the real focus should be on education, at all levels, and the rest will follow. [link] [comments]

But when I start up Eclair, I get an the error message: 'Error: assertion failed: Eclair requires Bitcoin Cor 0.16.0 or higher' Does anybody else have this issue? [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Oct 2018 02:52 AM PDT Logged to BitGo wallet and surprised to see BCH leading the first place. Why would they do that if not to confuse newbies? Just want to be sure they are doing that intentionally before I delete my account. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/UHaLtl2.png [link] [comments] |
