Peepeth's crowdfunding campaign is live! (for real this time; accepting ether, tokens, and credit card)

    Posted: 04 Sep 2018 12:52 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

Peepeth creator here again. I've launched a new crowdfunding page for Peepeth (you can now support with ETH, tokens, or credit card, all on one page). Your support will help make Peepeth accessible to mainstream users.

    https://peepeth.com/a/crowdfunding

Are you on Peepeth yet? It's a decentralized social network for those who value mindful, responsible engagement. It runs on Ethereum and IPFS, is ad-free, and encourages positive contribution through opinionated features. There are 2800+ users in the invite-only beta, with over 10k invite requests.

Your support will help make Peepeth much more accessible (free for all, no web3 provider required, a mobile app). With your help, Peepeth could become the first mainstream dapp.

Rewards include unique, customizable blockchain badges that give you superpowers (special features), and other fun & interesting perks. Corporate sponsorships are available too.

Thanks for everyone's help in getting this far.

    Support Peepeth 🐧🐧🐧

    Thanks, Bevan Barton, Peepeth founder

ps. What happened to the Kickstarter?

Thanks to everyone who supported the Kickstarter. Ultimately, I decided to cancel it. It was a worthwhile experiment, but the lack of an ETH option, uncertainty, fees, and lack of control make it not worth promoting alongside an ETH-accepting page. The new page is a more appropriate solution for a community which already has a home and a native currency.

Here is the original Kickstarter thread.

No new members in a long time. Very few updates that provide any substantive understanding of what is being accomplished.

Am I missing something here? Shouldn't we be expecting to see some sort of resulting development?

Community Thinkathon for Settle - A crypto Professional's platform - $500 ETH prize pool

    Posted: 04 Sep 2018 08:04 PM PDT

Settle is a platform for blockchain (ahem, ethereum) finance. Developers can deploy apps on Settle and earn a share of the subscription revenue when they are used. What type of app would be the 'killer-app' for the Settle platform?

We're having a thinkathon for the whole ethereum community. All you have to do is submit your idea (as a 1-pager).

We will pick the best ideas and give their creators $500 worth of ETH! Submit the idea before the deadline, and if you are a developer, sign up for the hackathon coming up next month for a chance to win $5,000.

    How to submit?

    Use this form: https://goo.gl/forms/2tmLwhNGQTjAgtWj1

    Who is building Settle?

If you visit ethtrader regularly, you likely know Terrible Token Tuesdays from ConcourseQ. The same team behind ConcourseQ is building Settle. We believe in the decentralization metaproject and are building Settle to bring ethereum to the world. ConcourseQ does not collect any revenue, but we hope Settle will.

Great, I love this, how else can I get involved?

Check out our website: https://settle.finance/. Even if you can't code, chat is an enormous part of the Settle platform. We are currently accepting applications for people that want to run Chat Hubs at launch. You can find a link to the applications on the homepage!

    What does Settle look like?

Want to know more about apps on Settle:

The best place to learn about apps on Settle is the Settle Developers Page. Hear you will learn how easy it is to deploy apps on Settle and also many ideas for what types of apps might work on Settle.

    Prizes:

    1st — $300 of ETH

    2nd — $150 of ETH.

    3rd — $50 of ETH.

    Failed Transaction with Kyber

    Posted: 04 Sep 2018 05:49 PM PDT

So the other night I was messing around with crypto when I probably shouldn't have an accidentally tried to double spend. Obviously, when I sent ~.17 eth to two different contracts WHILE ONLY having .17 eth, only one contract got the Eth. Kyber was the slower of the two, and is now blocking any other transactions from passing because I have an insufficient eth balance to process itself. Any way I can cancel that transaction? Or am I going to have to pay for some eth to complete that transaction?
