Bitcoin deposit did not arrive on Coinbase Pro

    Posted: 07 Sep 2018 09:55 AM PDT

I am an advanced trader and have made frequent deposits and withdrawals from my Coinbase Pro Account. Something went wrong on the Coinbase Pro side and I will explain it briefly.

    See Below:

On September 1st I deposited 0.1195 BTC to my Coinbase Pro account to the following address: 1JGG81xcnmjzXZn913DEVzEaVmvkLk9ymD , which was generated by my Coinbase Pro account. The transaction appeared at blockchain.info and is confirmed under txid: b2f151210e87275d234b5eec40baf1a5da5a52f5d6bffdc09ad56e27ca69cbfe.

    My BTC never arrived on my Coinbase Pro account. So, I was waited for 24 hours before reaching out the Coinbase Pro account support line. After a long call with someone at the helpdesk , he suggested for me to wait. He told me that there are some specialists looking into my case. After 48 hours I received an email from Coinbase support with the following statement;

''Unfortunately, it does not appear the address – 1JGG81xcnmjzXZn913DEVzEaVmvkLk9ymD is associated with your Coinbase account. You can view all your previous addresses at – https://www.coinbase.com/addresses ''

    ---

Firstly, the 'specialists' completely missing the nature of my request and did not provide any clarity or information related to my request. They instead redirected me to Coinbase were I could see all my previous addresses generated on Coinbase.

I've never created a Bitcoin deposit address because I don't use 'regular' Coinbase. So, they were redirecting me to Coinbase instead of Coinbase Pro. It is my belief the specialists did not investigate my Coinbase Pro account.

Secondly, I called the Coinbase Pro helpsdesk again and they suggested I reply to their previous email to have a conversation with the 'specialists'. It has been three days since that email reply, and I have not heard from anyone at Coinbase Pro.

I would like to ask the Coinbase Pro 'Specialists' to investigate my Coinbase Pro account instead of my Coinbase Account. In addition, I want to view all my BTC deposit addresses on Coinbase Pro.

Lastly, there is a transaction of 0.1195BTC which is owed to me as a result of this transaction error caused by Coinbase Pro

Is the Elixr exchange in Iran safe?

    Posted: 07 Sep 2018 06:24 AM PDT

I set up an account on the Irianian exchange Elixir to try and do some arbitrage, but I'm not sure how legit this exchange is. Is it dodgy? I honestly don't know. It only had two coins, (BTC, ETH) so I would likely have to wire money to the exchange to be able to do this. Can I wire fiat to this exchange?

    Thanks in advance.

Canada’s Bitfarms Bitcoin Mining Company: 1 BTC Mined Was Only $1,567 In Electricity Costs

    Posted: 06 Sep 2018 03:22 PM PDT

Bitcoin is under $7,000 again and I am seeing more speculation on how "miners will not let the price fall below mining costs". Well the average mining cost is probably closer to $3,000 than $6,000.

    https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/canadas-bitfarms-bitcoin-mining-company/

When mining Bitcoin, efficiency is everything and so is cheap electricity. According to a recent report made by Bitfarms, a Bitcoin mining in Canada, it is spending only $1567 USD per BTC that it mines on the facility. The company is helped by the cool climate of Canada and the low cost of electricity because it uses renewable energy.

They are not the only ones who can mine below $3,000.

    https://ethereumworldnews.com/this-canadian-mining-group-mined-800-bitcoins-in-3-months/

It costs the company roughly $2029 USD to mine each Bitcoin, leaving the rest to profit. Hut 8 Mining Group reportedly generated $8.5 million in revenue overall and is leaning towards opening another mining facility in Canada. The company began mining in December 2017 at the all-time high value of Bitcoin. Despite the subsequent loss of market cap, CEO Andrew Kiguel has said that he's pleased with how things have been going so far. The company raised $54 million USD recently to continue investing in the mining hardware they need to expand their operation.
