- So I made a thing - AceTipper! for Bitcoin Cash. If you love tipping in BCH, this app will print your tip as paper wallet to be gifted, keeps track of them to see who actually claims them, and (best of all) you can reclaim the gift after a period of time if it goes unclaimed.

Posted: 13 Sep 2018 10:56 PM PDT AceTipper is an application that will help you print out paper-wallets for the purposes of tipping Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to people who may or may not be familiar with Bitcoin. This application looks to solve 2 problems that I saw. 1) The need for the recipient (who may not be familiar with Bitcoin) to have to install a wallet in order to get some BCH can be a barrier. So with this app, you print out the tip as a paper wallet so you can hand them out to anyone anywhere. 2) Another problem I saw was that many folks (like servers at restaurants) may take the Bitcoin Cash tip, out of politeness, but then never claim them. Therefore, you lose your funds for no benefit to anyone. So with AceTipper you can track who actually claims the tip - and if nobody claims it within a period of time of your choosing, you can simply take those funds back. This app manages your tips, prints paper wallets of various designs (one design so far actually), but also allows you to take back your tip if it hasn't been claimed for a period of time - say a year. If you have any feedback, I would love to hear about it. This app is currently Windows only - but because it is written for Electron JS, a port to macOS and Linux is coming soon. Download the Windows Installer from Github r/bitcointipping for questions / feedback. Some notes: This runs completely on your machine as a desktop application (ElectronJS). The seeds for your wallet are stored on your machine. You are absolutely encouraged to make backups of your wallet seed. This is an open-source application. Here is a sample of what a printed BCH tip looks like. [link] [comments]

"I own zero BTC, only BCH, please don't censor me!" :-) Posted: 14 Sep 2018 12:21 AM PDT Have you noticed how some users, in order to discuss on r/Bitcoin, say: "Disclaimer: I own zero BCH, only BTC" or similar crap before they speak their opinion? I don't know what's more hilarious - the way they bend their back or that it seems to actually help them not being banned. [link] [comments]
Why Bitcoins in Mongolia is a good idea. Posted: 13 Sep 2018 10:43 PM PDT Hello Guys We are a new Bitcoin miner hosting service located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Please checkout our website www.monbit.mn/eng Aside from Bitcoin mining, we also operate a Mongolian language educational website dedicated towards educating the Mongolian public on the developments of blockchain technology. For those of you who have mastered the Mongolian language, you can checkout our site here. Mining Bitcoins in Mongolia in our humble opinion is a very good opportunity. Cheap electricity, cheap land, extremely cold climate, close proximity to China, positive view towards blockchain. We're also a very liberal democracy. Ranked 5th most peaceful country in Asia. Only 2 neighbors, both of whom are superpowers. Mongolia also has very talented software developers and their labor rate is frankly a steal. Our company is also in the process of starting a blockchain development operation. We're looking into developing blockchain solutions forGovernment services, environmental protection, mining supply chains, livestock tracing etc. All very preliminary at this stage. So please checkout our service and give us a try. If you have any questions regarding our service, company, team, or country, feel free to contact us in any way you see fit (Just don't come knocking when we're sleeping) Sincerely, Monbit Team [link] [comments]

Can Bitcoin Cash Effectively Be Utilized as a Second Layer Scaling Solution for Bitcoin Core? Posted: 13 Sep 2018 09:13 PM PDT Can Bitcoin Cash effectively be utilized as a second layer scaling solution for Bitcoin Core? It's quite simple actually. If many merchants accept Bitcoin Cash, then you can open up a Bitcoin Cash channel (wallet) for/in which you have already exchanged your Bitcoin Core to Bitcoin Cash. If you want to settle the layers and close the scaling channels, then you can close the second layer Bitcoin Cash channel by exchanging your Bitcoin Cash for Bitcoin Core, as long as you don't mind the fees. See? Simple and elegant. If you cannot tell, I am half joking with this. Which is deployed more already Lightning channels or Bitcoin Cash channels? I'm using some metaphors here, if you cannot tell. Forbes: Is Crypto the Future of Film Funding? Posted: 13 Sep 2018 09:07 PM PDT Earlier this year I wrote an article for Forbes about how the future of fundraising for Film and Television may lie in cryptocurrency: forbes.com/sites/steveforbes/2018/03/29/is-crypto-the-future-of-film-funding/ I talk about this in my latest video, with director and Sundance Alumni, Doug Karr. I'm super lucky to be a producer on his series "HardFork", and we talk about the process of fundraising and investment through cryptocurrency, and how other filmmakers can follow in the HardFork team's footsteps. How to explain the benefits of BCH to the average person? Posted: 14 Sep 2018 02:12 AM PDT Hi everyone, I've been lurking for quite sometime, but this marks my first post! My question is fairly straightforward. Tonight I was excited about Bitcoin Cash and explaining its properties to my significant other. After talking a bit she said, "isn't this basically the same as Venmo? Or other common instant money transfer apps?" In response I told her that BCH is safer, cheaper, and faster. But I had difficulty explaining the significance of that. It felt like I was splitting hairs between BCH and other payment apps commonly used in the United States. So when discussing BCH with people who typically use Venmo, PayPal, etc., how do you make BCH compellingly stand out from the competition? P.S. I just want to thank this sub so much for the information and education it has given me over the past few months. I have learned so much and I am so excited about the future of crypto! Posted: 13 Sep 2018 07:41 AM PDT If it wasn't for mass censorship, vote manipulation & centralization within the r/bitcoin subreddit, r/btc would never exist. I was there during the split, I saw the censorship developing, upvoted lies everyday to support blockstream's interest. The community became more centralized each day and this is when I realized everything was about to change. I just knew r/bitcoin & Blockstream where forking into the wrong path. Our fight isn't against the users in r/bitcoin. It's really not their fault, most people have no clue and are easy targets for Blockstream's propaganda. We're fighting for freedom of speech and for a open community where anyone can criticise & express their ideas. The best thing we can do is to be a leader who show people the right path. People will hate us for no reason, people will laugh at us and tell us we're all scammers. This is normal for all big leaders in the world. Stay strong, be brave, and most importantly, Be proud for fighting censorship. [link] [comments]

ShapeShift getting shut down (aka showing ID) means crypto "currency" is more winner takes all Posted: 13 Sep 2018 07:41 AM PDT ShapeShift provided an important role with integration in blockchain.com, yours.org and many other sites allow you to transact in multiple currencies easily. If you have for example Siacoin, Litecoin or Monero you can always use them on yours.org and convert it to BCH with ShapeShift. Now that ShapeShift has ID requirements, significantly fewer people will go through the hassle of signing up. Might as well just create a Bitfinex account and convert at a lower cost. I feel now users will slowly be funneled to the most used crypto "currency" to make payments and purchases. This change is only marginal with ShapeShift, but changes the landscape that any crypto isn't quite money any more. [link] [comments]
Question about the "Buy" feature of MoneyButton Posted: 13 Sep 2018 06:17 PM PDT I don't quite understand how to use it to sell a product. For example, let's say I have an ebook that I want to sell with moneybutton. How do I make it so that the product is delivered to them after they purchase? [link] [comments] |
