Is there an API that I can query for mining profitability by GPU? Posted: 03 Aug 2018 01:05 PM PDT I'm looking for an API that take will give me the most profitable coin to mine at the current time based on a specified GPU. For example, what's the best coin to mine for an Nvidia 1060 right now? Does anyone know of any API that currently has this functionality? [link] [comments]

New to mining, should I use the GTX 1060 or 1070? Posted: 03 Aug 2018 01:14 PM PDT I'm new here so hi. I've been doing research about mining for a while now and I want to get into it. To get started I've put a spare desktop to work mining Monero not expecting to make anything. It was just for fun, but I'll have you know it made 6 cents in the last week. :P I'll reach my pool's payout threshold in a mere two decades at this rate! ;) So, now I'm thinking of doing it for real, I think mining Ethereum but I'm not sure. I'm planing on building a mining rig that has one or two cards at first, and scale up from there if it works out. But I need so advice: In doing research on the graphics card(s) I will use I came up with mixed results. One guide said to use the GTX 1070 while a few reddit posts had people recommending both the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1060. From whattomine.com I can see that two 1060s have a better hashrate than one 1070, but I'm still unsure which I should use. One 1070 uses less power, but two 1060s produce a better hashrate. Also, the people on Reddit and various forums that recommended 1060s said to use the 6GB ones. Where I live (I'm not sure about anywhere else), two of those are more expensive than one 1070. Tl;dr: Should I build my rig with the 1060 or the 1070, or something else entirely? Thanks for your help. ;) [link] [comments]

i need a way to put my rigs outside, will this work? Posted: 03 Aug 2018 08:44 AM PDT Hi! I just got a new apartment, and there in no space for my mining rigs. only way i can have them is if i can find a way to put them outside... i was thinking about something like this? https://www.bauhaus.no/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/800x/dee501ad30eab118456440713c51d775/7/0/7021915A_2_TS.jpg i will ofc buy one that is water resistant and so on, but will there be moisture? i live in a city with alot of rain and wind. i will put it under a balcony, so it will block some of it, but not all of it. any other ideas on how i can do this? EDIT: Thinking about doing something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FOi6fHUmfQ [link] [comments] |
