Enlighten me - how do whales operate?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2018 08:56 PM PDT

This isn't some FUD post, I just want to understand the environment we all trade in a little bit better...

And I known that there isn't one answer to this question but I'd love to hear your thoughts on this...

    Coordination?

I believe it's no longer enough to pump a single exchange manually due to increased volume, arbitration bots etc. I don't think it's realistic (just FUD) to believe in groups running 'pump and dump' schemes on Telegram (with shitcoins yes, but not in liquid markets like BTC/USD). Or is it?

So how is coordination done? By a farm of bots across Binance, Bitfinex and Bitstamp?

Running stops and compounding into position seems like an extremely difficult task to do. So there must be heavy usage of bots...? And that leads me to my second question...

    Operations?

Who develops and maintains bot farms like those I talked about earlier? Just some clever guy who bought Bitcoin early?

Have early adopters just gone to hedge fund managers with their big stacks and the hedge funds maintain the bots?

How customised are these bots for a market like Bitcoin? While these bots of course a proprietary and very advanced, surely the same bots must have been used in forex markets forever?

In a move to attract foreign investors and drive down bitcoin's premium in the local market, AltCoinTrader, a Johannesburg-based cryptocurrency exchange has introduced Tether (USDT) trading.

Since SA's prices are usually 5%+ higher there should be some arb opportunities coming up...

Bitcoin Price Analysis: Reignites Uptrend; Classic Rising Wedge Pattern Spotted - coinness.com

    Posted: 13 Aug 2018 02:17 AM PDT

According to John Isige, FXstreet's analyst, Bitcoin's 15-minutes chart is pointing upwards and heading further into the overbought levels. Similarly, the 50 SMA is above the 100-day simple moving average, confirming that the bulls have the control at the moment.

BTC/USD is facing immediate resistance at $6,440, while the upper supply zone at $6,459.60 is the key resistance. Further up, $6,500 is the ultimate intraday resistance in the medium term. But a break above this level will curve a path towards the critical $6,600. Significantly, there is a rising wedge pattern forming on the chart.

On the flip side, there is a short-term support forming above $6,400 but $6,360 and the 61.8% (pivotal former resistance level) will work as strong support areas in the event declines progress below $6,400.

Bitcoin Technical Analysis: Bitcoin Is Regaining Strength to Bounce Back in Short-Term - coinness.com

    Posted: 12 Aug 2018 08:14 PM PDT

Bitcoin (BTC) has been trading sideways for 4 days. It seems like short positions are weakening while long positions are being stronger following days' of consolidation.

The four-hour chart shows intertwining MACDs and relatively powerless red and green sticks, which indicate an imminent change. RSI reached 50 at around 16:00 UTC August 12 and currently reads 47.67.

In the 24h chart, price of BTC touched the lower Bollinger Band (BB) before turning to the middle BB, another signal of a jump in the short term.

The 78.6%-Fibonacci retracement line provides efficient support while BTC tries a breakout into the upper side of the downward channel. There is the possibility that BTC will set its next goal of $6,661.3 (MA 10) should long positions hold on power. Otherwise, it is expected that BTC will take a further decline if it is closed down $5,813 (lower BB).

Trading bot for a beginner: where to start?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2018 05:17 PM PDT

I'm a scientist, i can learn any language, i already have my killer strategy. The only problem is that all the videos and articles i found start a step above my level. How do I get these funny windows into my computer?

How do I start with my PC. I only have Firefox, then what should I download?

Also I need to have my computer running for the bot to work?

I need the basis. Then I can handle the programing and strategy
