PSA: The slack chat that deadalnix was banned from was never really designed to be an open slack, it was created basically for csw to have a space to communicate without trolls that were bothering him on the original slack.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:54 PM PDT

Basically what happened is we had the original btc slack run by /u/bitsko, and csw was coming there for a while and everything was cool. Then trolls started getting to csw, and things got inflamed. Things got toxic, and there was a fight between csw and Peter Rizun and basically csw said he didn't want to come to the slack anymore while Peter was there.

So the old slack continued open and free, but also there was a new slack that was created for csw, and the ones causing problems for him were not invited. I think it was always meant to be a private slack, and not an open one like the original. So I think its a little unfair the criticisms for banning deadalnix, when others like Peter Rizun are also banned there from my understanding. I guess if some people were creating a private channel or multi-PM on the original slack and inviting/banning who they want then it wouldn't be looked at as a big deal, but since it was an entirely new slack it is more alarming to people who did not know the full backstory.

Personally I prefer open spaces for discussion and free speech, with trolls allowed. We learned what censorship can do to a community. But I wanted everyone to have the full back story of these slack channels and what happened, so they can decide for themselves.

For those of you who have been called a crazy/a "conspiracy theorist" for saying BTC was taken over by bad actors with a conflict of interest, remember: "Conspiracy theory" is not an argument.

What Twitter and Slack bans have taught me - use an uncensorable platform! Memo.cash!

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 11:38 AM PDT

Reminder: While a single person was unjustly banned from the BCH Slack, thousands or tens of thousands have been unjustly banned from /r/Bitcoin

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:47 AM PDT

The censorship taking place for several years now on /r/Bitcoin is mind boggling. People like the CEO of Coinbase.com, Bitcoin.com, and other major Bitcoin companies have been banned, or had their posts deleted simply for expressing an opinion or idea. People like Trace Mayer, Greg Maxwell and others have openly supported the censorship while others like Andreas Antonopolous have turned a willing blind eye to it. You can get a taste for the censorship going on at /r/Bitcoin here and here, or watch a video about how it affects society here. That is why I'm upping my current offer to donate $250,000 USD to $500,000 USD to the charity of Reddit's choice if they simply appoint moderators to /r/Bitcoin that actually allow people to discuss Bitcoin. Two wrongs don't make a right, so it is up to all of us to speak out whenever this sort of nonsense goes on.

bitcoin.com wallet takes a few seconds to 'calculating fees'. I mean it takes quite a few seconds...

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 06:02 PM PDT

Maybe it was network connection but it spinned on 'calculating fees' for about 10 seconds. Can't the fees be a constant 1 sat/byte? Or can't the fees be calculated in the background as soon as you press the 'scan' or 'send bch' actions? Of all the the things that take time, calculating fees should not be one of them.

    A Corepunk's Manifesto

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 11:05 AM PDT

Control is necessary for a closed society in the electronic age. Control is power.

We the Corepunks are dedicated to controlling decentralized systems. We are defending our control with censorship, with anonymous DDoS attacks, with shills, and with as much disinformation as we can spread.

Corepunks maintain code. We know that whoever maintains the code obtains control, so we're going to maintain it. We don't much care if you don't approve of the software we maintain. We know that software can't be destroyed and that a widely dispersed system can't be shut down - but it can be controlled.

Corepunks adore regulations, for regulations grant us control. We happily beg the SEC to regulate crypto. We love to threaten lawsuits: we want the United States court system to define Bitcoin, so that the free market can't define it.

For our control to be complete, it must be part of the social contract. People must come together and accept our control for the common good. People must accept that Bitcoin isn't for people that make less than $2 a day. People must continue using debt-based schemes, like "tabs", rather than any form of sound money, for we know - like the generations of powerful bankers before us - that debt grants us power.

The Corepunks are actively engaged in controlling networks that were meant to be free and open. Let us proceed together apace.

    Onward.

Beware, Core trolls are posting anti-Deadalnix here and pro-Deadalnix on other media

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 01:52 AM PDT

There is clear push from the Core trolls for a split. The core trolls here are posting only anti-Deadalnix content. In the same time they are posting pro-Deadalnix content on twitter and r/bitcoin. Clear divide and conquer strategy.

"Bcash", "Bitcash" didn't took off. They try to split the community now, and most importantly - they try to split the chain.
