Timeline of the CSW-CoinGeek attack on Bitcoin Cash.

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 11:47 AM PDT

Back in March 2018, Rick Falkvinge warned that the BCH community had learned nothing from the Blockstream takeover of Bitcoin, and warned that the BCH community needed to identify toxic sociopaths (like CSW) early on.

Over time, the divide between CSW and many BCH people began to expand.

CSW, nChain, billionaire Calvin Ayre, CoinGeek are all aligned.

And it appears that they bought up anywhere from 40%-51% of BCH hashpower.

Now they're threatening to launch double spend attacks against BCH exchanges, like CoinEx / ViaBTC.

Basically, CSW / nChain / Calvin / CoinGeek want to create a hardfork (Bitcoin SV), and insist that everyone follow it as BCH, and they'll launch double spend attacks against anyone in the BCH community who doesn't comply.

CSW is now threatening to double spend and 51% attack any SHA 256 coin that doesnt follow his Satoshi Vision from hell, instead of letting rival ideas/implementations compete on the free market. +patent trolling and conspiring to attack exchanges such as coinex and viabtc.

Roger Ver: “This article is incredibly misleading and needs to clarify what "Satoshi's Vision" is. It certainly isn't referring to the full node implementation by Nchain. The main meeting starts today and isn't at the W hotel.”

More on my system of economically rewarding free content (no ads, no bullshit, just free creative publication)

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 09:46 AM PDT

I'm posting this here from a comment thread on r/crazyideas where I posted about what I'm working on: https://np.reddit.com/r/CrazyIdeas/comments/9bjglv/live_stream_writing_a_book_collaborate_with/

I'm particularly posting it in this community because I'm tired of the same old boring regurgitations of blockchain technology that echoes the idea from the smartphone application boom of 'the uber for pizza' or some other bullshit like that. I'm not saying these ideas aren't successful, as they obviously are. I'm simply saying they aren't exciting and creative.

Truly, what exciting and creative application of blockchain technology has there been since the creation of ethereum?

Sure, we can send money to each other digitally - but where is the biggest buzz coming from in the media? It's coming from speculation over price. Money. That's it. That's the buzz. There haven't been any truly revolutionary ideas in the blockchain space essentially since it's inception. I look over at the top 10 market cap coins and just think, "These are all various attempts at solving what is relatively the same problem over and over again without too much difference." That thought is made up partly of truth and partly of my ignorance. I don't understand the minute differences between how various blockchains verify transactions, how stupid laws are handled by each, etc, but I do know that claim contains some truth.

We also need to get away from this idea that this chain or that chain or this coin is SOOO much better. Realize that everyone that feels that way in every subreddit feels the exact same way as you do about your coin. And if you don't feel that way, then good! Let's do something here that's really going to change the world for the better.

Let's create ways for students to earn money through learning. Let's create ways of perpetually compensating the best teachers. Let's create safety blankets for each other so we are free to explore this space in much more depth and not worry about our 9-5 rat race jobs. Let's figure out ways of economically incentivizing philanthropic works. Let's make information free, as it always has wanted to be. Let's relearn how to cooperate in a digital age and to share, to seek agreement and to better ourselves and others.

These are truly the implications that blockchain technology brings to our reality and yet we spend time making the blockchain for this and the blockchain for that and the DAG that's not quite a blockchain when really, we need to be focussing on platforms that will allow us to collaborate and deduplicate all of this spinning of our wheels.

There are tons of places in this text where you could raise objection, but I'm not going to counter them all in this initial blurb. If they are raised in the comments, I will thoughtfully and in good faith respond to each of them. Please check out this idea and offer some constructive criticism but also think about ideas that can IMPROVE it as we just love to prove each other wrong today without thinking about why things may just be crazy enough to work if we just were to work together.

I believe I've created ways of economically 'disincentivizing' (<~~ what's the word here?) plagiarism through missing out on the network effect of the original publication. Sorry for the verbose explanation there. If you're interested, shoot me a DM and we can have a much longer form discussion.

Right now, we are stuck in a paradigm where we believe information (books, movies, films, radio shows, etc) should be stuck behind some kind of economic effort, some kind of paywall. That actually is counter intuitive to something I like to think of as 'Information Flow Theory'. If we think about information as an analogy to electricity, we can conclude the information wants to 'flow', just like electricity will kill you in a swimming pool. Electricity does not care how much money you have when it 'decides' to kill you, it just kills you.

In the same way, information 'wants' to flow. We just made up this cultural story that the only way to compensate creators was to put stuff behind these economic obstructions. I'm creating a different paradigm where the information does flow (the book is free, open, and so to is the process behind creating it as sort of a trademark that I did that) but the economic reward to both creator and consumer comes from the relationship between the two. If I write a book and no one sees it, then the book has no value according to the market. If I write a book and it turns out to be the next Harry Potter, due to the network effect, I am now a billionaire.

Blockchain technology has inspired me to think of different ways of creating valuable relationships, both economically and in a humanitarian sense. What blockchain helped me realize was that the book isn't valuable in itself, it is really only valuable insofar as it is consumed and understood and causes some kind of societal impact. In order for it to maximize its ability to do so, you guessed it, it needs to be free.

But if the book is free, who is ever going to write? There won't be any money in writing, you may say. That's not true. Through various different games we can set up (look into BookIt) we can demonstrate an understanding of various writings. We can also facilitate the discussion of and correction of incorrectness (objectively speaking) in writings. We can increase truth and accuracy to reality in writing. We can increase agreement amongst disparate economically incentivized individuals in writing. We can do many more similar things that produce some kind of economic reward from simply the fact that playing these games inevitably produce a ranking which can be used to determine reward from a Blockchain network.

That's as thoroughly as I can explain the idea in such limited space but I would be more than happy to discuss with you if you were interested in hearing more. I'm going to continue the process on my YouTube and Dtube channels, so please subscribe if I've piqued your interest.

If any of this sounds interesting to you, please subscribe for more on my Dtube or YouTube channel. If this is considered begging, let me know and I will remove it.

According to a study by DHL and Accenture, blockchain technology can now be used to combat counterfeit drugs and false medications across the globe. The two companies are driving a blockchain-based serialization project providing sophisticated track-and-trace capabilities to the pharmaceutical industry. The collaboration resulted in a proof-of-concept that used blockchain technology for product verification.

Counterfeit pharmaceuticals are $200 billion business annually, as per PwC. Even in the most secure markets in the world, it's estimated that at least one per cent of all drugs in circulation are counterfeit.
