Why Consensus is better than Proof of Work

    Posted: 07 Jun 2018 07:18 AM PDT

    https://xrpcommunity.blog/consensus-model-vs-proof-of-work/

Consensus is better than Proof of Work.

When it comes to all categories of strengths for a decentralized cryptographic network, XRP is stronger than Bitcoin in every category: Double-spend prevention, security, censorship-resistance, dependability, scalability, and settlement speed.

The fact that we're even still talking about Bitcoin in 2018 is a testament to how effective protectionist market interference can be; but XRP doesn't care - it is being adopted at scale by real businesses for real global commerce. There are a myriad of reasons for this, but in this blog, I focus in on one specific aspect of XRP: its transaction validation model and how it compares to Bitcoin.

I hope you enjoy! Please leave any feedback below.

    Sincerely, -Hodor

Mexican crypto exchange Bitso lowers trading fees.

Probably a small drop in the big ecosystem. However, movements like this foster trading and liquidity where remittance transactions require it.

Link is in spanish but from what I get the fees were considerably reduced. XRP/MXN from 0.80% to 0.075%

Has anyone looked into the 'Better Than Cash Alliance' before?

Seems all connected if you remember Bearableguy123 United Nations picture with the $589+ prediction.

It all seems connected 'Better Than Cash Alliance' is under the United Nations Umbrella & lists the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which is working on Mojaloop in conjunction with Ripple - Banking the unbanked.

Why will the value of XRP rise when more banks start using it?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2018 01:28 AM PDT

Ripple signed over 100 banks so far but still the XRP value/price is decided in the exchanges buy the sellers and buyers. Why or how will that change?

Brad mentioned in this interview https://youtu.be/harIAVUhlt0?t=3m32s , that Ripple sells XRP to financial institution directly. So knowing banks are buying XRP directly from Ripple, how will that change the price being decided by the value it brings to the banks rather than profits for speculators in exchanges?

    How secure is XRP?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2018 10:01 AM PDT

So this is a serious question and pardon my ignorance; but with all the '51% hacks,' etc. How susceptible is XRP? I'm not talking about exchange hacks as I understand the inherent risks with those, (and why I keep my holdings and new purchases immediately on to my Ledger Nano) but how is RTXP different?

I feel with banks being the primary target a single hack could cripple the trust and destroy their model significantly. I know other major blockchains have been hit. (ETH, BTC, etc) I understand a bit that BTC it's susceptible to 51% hacks (and maybe someone can provide a TL;DR of 51% hacks, is ETH susceptible to this?) but not really plausible as it would require huge resources because of the amount of validators. (Or something along those lines; again my knowledge on it isn't great so excuse me if I have inaccurate information) What makes RTXP different? How is it more secure than ER20 and BTC?

If this is answered elsewhere feel free to point me but it's something I haven't seen this majorally addressed, beyond "it's more secure and safer because..." and as it gains popularity I'd imagine so will the interest in hacks. I'm just wondering how XRP is 'bullet proof,' at least in the sense that banks (assuming) have the trust to hold large volumes of it in the future.

    Thanks!

Rebranded XRP coin image - giving it away.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2018 04:21 PM PDT

Hi everyone. Voting on a new XRP symbol is about to end and I wanted to present my enterpretation of how an XRP coin could look like. I tried to make this design standout among the others just like it's capabilities. I'm giving this for free to all the members of our community. Please share if you like it and see different editions in the next tweet. I hope this will be another step towards XRP's independence.

How do you cash out/liquidate your XRP when it moons?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2018 06:52 PM PDT

Most exchanges and other services have daily/monthly withdrawal limits. How do you manage to get your money (fiat in particular) out of their hands and into your own bank account when the time comes?

    Binance or Revolut

    Posted: 07 Jun 2018 07:46 AM PDT

The price of XRP is as long ad I've watched it over $0.01 cheaper on Revolut than it is Binance. I currently hold all my XRP on Binance. Any thoughts if I should start buying through Revolut?
