What am I missing about Vega 64 or 56 Posted: 08 Jun 2018 06:29 AM PDT I keep hearing people saying how fast the ROI of a VEGA is. I have difficulty to see and understand why this statement. When I look at at coincalculator.io, the revenue for vega 64 is about 2$ per day. That puts the ROI somewhere between 400 and 500 days. Compared to 1070ti, the revenue per day is 1.5$ per day. Which puts the revenue in the same range. Am I missing something about the VEGA? [link] [comments]
Opinions on GPU Minable Tokens Posted: 08 Jun 2018 07:21 AM PDT I've noticed a proliferation of GPU mineable ERC-20 tokens popping up, and was wondering what other peoples thoughts on them were. So far I've seen 0xBitCoin Cash and 0xLiteCoin, both of which seem to be aping the original 0xBitcoin with no real added value. My first instinct is the ones copy & pasting 0xBitcoin's code with a name and total supply edit are just get rich quick schemes that will burn up Ethereum gas to mine, but I also wonder if I'm somehow missing something. The only one of interest I've seen so far that has a dev who seems to actually be doing anything different is KiwiToken. Anyone have any thoughts on these? I realize the difficulty on these is so low they're CPU mineable at the moment, and this is a GPU mining forum, but I wasn't certain what to make of this turn to mineable tokens that's popped up. Anything better to use than mining pool hub? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 05:04 AM PDT Sorry if this is has been covered but I have been using mining pool hub with awesome miner for some time now. Is there anything better to use with awesome miner than mining pool hub? Side question My rig consists of 1 1080ti, 6700k 16gb ram, custom loop and a 750w PSU. Will my PSU be ok with 2 maybe 3 1080ti or do I need to upgrade? The PC is used for more than mining. [link] [comments]

how good are XFX RX 560 4GBs for mining? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 07:34 AM PDT I bought one by accident and have no need for it, but I was looking into mining anyways, is it worth buying more and mining on them? [link] [comments]
Zcash Difficulty jumped 40% today! Posted: 07 Jun 2018 02:37 PM PDT I believe this is the highest it has ever been. I wonder how that happened.... https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/zcash-difficulty-chart [link] [comments]
An extended review of GTX 1050 Ti with price/performance Posted: 08 Jun 2018 12:50 AM PDT Hey guys! So recently there were many requests to make posts where we discuss different and most optimal settings for GPUs. This week I will start with GTX 1050 Ti, post my experience with this particular version of NVIDIA GPU and how I found optimal settings for mining different algorithms, together with different hashing speeds and power usage. I have tried many different GTX 1050 Tis and all of them have similar performance; however, there are differences or discrepancy in power usage up to 60% between the one that requires the most power and the one that requires the least. I use MSI Afterburner as my software of choice for changing GPU settings. -My first finding is that GTX 1050 Ti GPUs need very little energy, their power usage is always below 100W. I found out that version with 2 fans will usually use up to 60% more power than the ones with 1 fan; however, the speed or hash rate will more or less remain the same. When overclocking this GPU I always try setting the power limit to lowest possible in MSI Afterburner (usually this means 70% Power limit). I found out that by doing so I lose a bit of speed when mining (around 1%), but in comparison to the electricity that a GPU consumes, it is completely worth it. I managed to get the 1 fan version to 50-55W and the 2 fan version to around 75W. Of course dual mining consumes a lot more electricity, when dual mining you can expect a rise in power consumption for around 20%. -When talking temperatures GTX 1050 Ti is again extremely grateful GPU, since power usage, fan speed and temperatures work together. Not only is power usage very reasonable, at the same time fan speeds are always below 70% even in summer months. I should mention that I use Auto speed setting in MSI Afterburner That means that GPU regulates the speed of fans by itself, so when the temperatures are too high it will bump the speed of fans up (mostly in summer months). The temperatures of these GPUs are below 70 degrees Celsius, usually running below 65. The average fan speed is around 60%, which is great and will give your GPU a long lifetime. -Core and Memory clock: So I played with this a lot. And I found out that for dual mining a combination of +125/+750 meaning core clock: +125 and memory clock: +750 works very well. I have encountered some GPUs, that are a bit weaker (low profile GTX 1050 Ti model) and with those I had to go to around +120/+740 to make it stable. I also found out that there is no difference, whether you have one fan or two, you can set your core and memory clock very similarly. So it is pretty safe to say that there is no correlation between the number of fans and ability to overclock the GTX 1050 Ti GPU. -Mining performance: So first lets talk hashing. There is no doubt that GTX 1050 Ti overall is a great card for Ethash algorithm, since it manages above 14 Mh/s. I managed to overclock my cards with the settings I have posted above to around 15Mh/s flat, with 1 fan cards only using 55W. At a current price of around 180 euros, that is 12 euros for each Mh/s. One of the best price performance GPUs on that algorithm. Right now GTX 1050 Ti is also performing well on Lyra2REv2, profitability of that algorithm is just slightly below the Ethash one. This card should manage over 14500 kh/s with power usage around 60-70W. On Equihash algorithm GTX 1050 Ti will manage around 200 sol/s which is around 30% less than the GTX 1060 6GB, while consuming anywhere from 55-65W. For those with a smaller budget, it is more than appropriate GPU for mining at a price that is around 40% less than the GTX 1060 6GB version. Some might say that this GPU only makes $0,7 a day, but they forget that they paid a lot less for that GPU. Comment below what mining experience with that GPU you have and share your OC settings and speed- Regards, Aljaž Disclaimer: This is my own opinion based on my experience and discovery. remote power restart over internet Posted: 08 Jun 2018 01:16 AM PDT hello folks, i'm looking for a way to restart power over internet, i'm always traveling and sometimes i need to manually restart my mining rigs, i found some Belkin wemo stuff but its not practical at all. any solution ? Did some math on what Eth going POS and zcash not forking might mean Posted: 07 Jun 2018 04:27 PM PDT Broke down the nethash on all algorithms for everything listed on what to mine in excel and figured I might as well share the results. I did not count nicehash. I put figures in number of cards based on the hashrate for a gtx 1070 since it seems to be quite decent at everything except cryptonightv7 which i used the hash for a rx580. For the +25% figures (not counting cards on eth) I used that to count for cards on algorithms not listed on whattomine, I feel that is quite optimistic.

Posted: 07 Jun 2018 07:31 PM PDT Hey guys I hate to be that guy who posts on here just to ask questions but I am truly stumped. I have been trouble shooting for hours but can't get my GPU's running. Everything I have set up is brand new and works well with the exception of the 1070's. I've made sure all the drivers on my computer and GPU's are up to date, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers on the 1070's multiple times using their software and when that didn't work I tried manually downloading the drivers off their website which also didn't work. In computer management I can see the GPU but in the device status box I get this message: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) I'll give you guys my specs and if anyone has any suggestions or has run into this problem themselves, I would really appreciate any feedback. Windows 10 home ASROCK H10 Pro BTC+ motherboard Pentium dual core G series gen 7 Genforce GTX 1070 ti (x3) EVGA 850w Power supply 4GB Ram (x1) I took 2 of the 3 GPU's off the rig when I was trouble shooting to isolate the problem to see if it was a power issue but it's not. NVIDIA 1070 - what are you mining now? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 06:59 PM PDT Just wanted to see what everyone else was mining right now... I'm using AwesomeMiner... and with profit switching turned on, it has my 1070 cards (6 cards) mining about $330/month with the Lyra2REv2 algorithm. After my estimated power costs, this is about $270/month. What is everyone else mining atm? Just seeing if there might be some better opportunities out there for anything else. [link] [comments]
Why don't we add a Mining Rig Gallery and Flair for the subreddit? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 10:02 AM PDT Just a suggestion like maybe this one (https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/wiki/gallery), and add an button under the Rig of the Month picture. And or a flair where we can, just list our rigs specs. Would be great imo. [link] [comments]
