Posted: 17 Jun 2018 03:26 AM PDT Hi everyone, I have created a guide for setting up a system with multiple Vega Frontier Editions. This method allows Wattman and Overdrive tool to work and is persistent through reboots. the advantage of using this newer method vice just running the latest Adrenaline Drivers which don't fully support OverDrive tool and has broken PowerPlay table settings. is to shed a couple hundred or more Watts of power utilization. the Guide is uploaded to the Files section of the Facebook group below, feel free to re-post this guide. hope this will help some frustrated Vega Frontier Edition miners. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1933754206641328/files/ edit: I've uploaded the file here for those that don't want to use facebook [link] [comments]

Cryptonight Proxy... any luck??? Posted: 17 Jun 2018 12:01 AM PDT It seems with the latest algo changes in the cryptonight world the use of xmr-node-proxy: cryptonote-proxy: https://github.com/sebseb7/cryptonote-proxy/wiki/Installation-guide-for-cryptonote-proxy and XMRig proxy: https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig-proxy/releases Have all been cut down to only Monero7.... I have been bust'n my ass all weekend trying to get a proxy setup on smaller projects like Intense, Luki, Haven etc and NOTHING works.... Anyone out there running a proxy on these smaller coins. If so can you post a config.json? Thx! [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Jun 2018 05:01 PM PDT When I temporarily mine with my GPU, I prefer to keep the temperatures below 70 degrees. This is easily possible by lowering the intensity by adding the parameter in the execution file; algorithms such as Ethash, PHI1612 and TimeTravel10 work perfectly by doing this. The problem is, every Equihash coin I've tried mines really hot, really fast, while the intensity setting does absolutely nothing (I know the setting is applied since it shows my set parameter on the command line while mining). Without changing my GPU settings (since I don't want my fans running any faster, or reducing/increasing power or whatever), is there any way to reduce the intensity of Equihash mining, to the point I can comfortably mine a little below 70 degrees? Grow tent, positive or negative pressure? Posted: 16 Jun 2018 11:09 AM PDT I moved my 18 gpus in a grow tent (36x20x63). As of now, there is only 10 gpus running since when everything is hashing, there is too much heat. I have 400CFM outlet and 240CFM intake, so I am keeping a negative pressure in the tent (which I tough that would be the thing to do). The air is going out at 40C and the room temp is 24C. Shall I add another 240CFM intake? As of now the air intake is coming from room, do you use a/c for intake? [link] [comments]

Rig calculator ( watt tdp / hash ) excel file for your rigs :) Posted: 16 Jun 2018 09:38 AM PDT Hi, i made this to help me out easier checking our rigs & hashes for some coins, i thought to share it with u guys since it might be helpfull for some people. U can edit the ETH or RVN table to the Coin of your choice, also the TDP & cards u can just replace or edit. I filled in some average hashes / tdp for people who are not aware of those, i won't be to far off in my experience ( ive build +100 rigs ). Short said : change the name of the Rigs to your rigs, enter the number of cards for that rig and the calc will do the rest ( tdp / hash total ). Download link : http://s000.tinyupload.com/download.php?file_id=31736613843695736459&t=3173661384369573645906416 ( previous calc had a typo, link above is perfect in order with the right calc ) hf :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Jun 2018 11:20 AM PDT I purchased some longer cable for pcie risers and they did not work, just wanted to check if there is anything special I need to do to get longer runs from PCIe slot on the boards to the riser or maybe these cables are in some way special type. If anyone used longer cable and can post a link I would appreciate. I distance I am looking for is 3-6 feet. [link] [comments]

I'm at my witts end! Low M/H from proven known good RX570's. Posted: 16 Jun 2018 02:56 PM PDT The rig in question is a 7 RX570's mined at 29-30 m/h for over a year. The hard drive died. Replaced, reinstalled, configured. I can only get a max of 24-26 m/h. I am running Windows 1703, I have a huge paging file and the card is set to COMPUTE - I am currently using 1 card directly installed into the Primary slot on the MB to reduce variables. The card has previously been BIOS modded (nothing changed but the hard drive). For the heck-of-it I went through the steps to BIOS mod it again (Polaris & ATIflash). It didn't increase the hash rate. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 different versions of the drivers: I used GURU3D DDU and a reboot in between each re-install. I have run and applied PixelPatcher. I'm using OverdriveNTool, (but have tried Afterburner & Wattman) to overclock them to get better hash rates. I know my card is Hynix(1) mem and I previously used: This rigged ran almost flawlessly at 203+ m/h for 13 months, now the best I can get is 182 with the same power draw. This is my second weekend with this issue unsolved, I have fully reinstalled Windows 10 again. Any ideas (and thanks)?
THANKS to all who answered - I solved it! ...I thought - still working on it :-( [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Jun 2018 02:46 PM PDT I need some help with my shed to figure out getting the heat out. The setup I build is entirely closed, with one box fan on top with 1600 CFM pulling air out, and one 20 x 20 intake on bottom with a box fan moving air from the bottom to the top inside (compartment is 100 cubic feet). I stopped putting any more rigs in because the heat is not where I would like it to be. The top box fan exhausts to another container above which is about 50 cubic feet and vents to outside through 2 10in x 10in vents and a 18 x 18 in vent. Its in a 10 x 10 shed located in the back, pulling air directly from outside. When the outside air is around 75F, the cards all run 50-60% fan with temps around 61C each card. When the outside temps go up to 85 the cards move to 75% fan at around 65C, and at 90F outside cards are at 80% fan at 67C. My questions are: Are these acceptable temps? Do you think I could put more 12 more cards in above and 2 ASICS below and do nothing? Should I add another intake to the floor of the shed or higher up on the wall to give more air from outside? The negative pressure is very high right now, pulling air from inside the shed through cracks around the door which is pretty dusty. [link] [comments]
Good stackable mining rig frames Posted: 16 Jun 2018 10:58 AM PDT Any suggestions for some decent stackable mining rig frames? I'm finally cleaning up my 56 gpu setup and moving it into a grow tent. My current setup is vertically challenged, so I'm looking for some good options. I have seen the units that include fans on Amazon. Any experience with a specific model would be great. I have considered going over to octominer motherboard and cases, but have a tough time justifying the expense with how narrow mining margins are already. [link] [comments]

How can I tell if a GPU is legit? Posted: 16 Jun 2018 10:34 AM PDT I want to get into mining and I know it's probably a bad idea atm but how do I know if the GPU I'm buying from local sellers is legit? I've heard stories that they can be fake or that they flashed the bios to say that it's a 1080 but instead it's a 1050ti or something like that? thanks for looking ! EDIT: IM BUYING USED GPUS FROM A RIG IF THAT HELPS [link] [comments] |
